  1. Thank you very much :-)
  2. Hi all, I was wondering something. My surgeon says he only wants me to have protein supplements (drinks, powders, shakes ect..) that have whey protein ISOLATE in the ingredients. But I've noticed that a lot of them just say whey protein. Is there a big difference between the two? Thanks for any replys. My surg date is in july.
  3. I can't wait to not worry about sitting on a plastic chair at a picnic or get together and having it crash down on the floor with me on top of it. I can't wait to be able to put on shoes, socks and pants without getting winded. I can't wait to be able to stand for long periods of time without my knees and feet and lower back aching. I can't wait to stop my cholesterol meds and cpap machine!!! I wanna walk PAST Lane Bryant, not INTO Lane Bryant. Also, I can't wait to show my side by side before and after photos :-)
  4. Hi Lunaya, I know, excited, terrified, but can't wait!! Good luck, my surgery is scheduled for july 8th...♥
  5. Congrats!!! You look great :-)
  6. Mine was a 15 minute phone call from a psychologist.
  7. I hope you're feeling better. Sorry to hear that. I was banded for 5 years, lost 30 lbs probably from vomiting. It was 5 years of torture. So last Oct I went in to the hospital for the revision to sleeve, woke up from anesthesia and I got the sickening news that my surgeon just removed the band and sewed me back up because my stomach was "a mess in there" too dangerous to do the sleeve. So he cleared me for 2 months from now. (July 8) so it will be 9 months that I had to wait. I sure wish the band was offered to me back in 2007 when I got the band. Good luck to you! ! Feel better. Oh hey, maybe we'll both be sleeved around the same time! ! :-)
  8. Well now that I've been thinking about this, its not so much of a food Funeral as it is saying goodbye to my gluttonous way of eating. Goodbye Glutton!! Hello picky eater!!
  9. Thank you everyone for the great advice and kind words. It would really be in my best interests to start getting used to to not drinking before or after meals and putting more healthy food into my mouth. I am determined this time!!! I'm going to make it!!!
  10. Oh boy, I'm having the sleeve in July and I'm eating to my hearts content, knowing that in just two months it will all be over. This will be my second attempt ( the band damaged my stomach so much that the surgeon removed my band and did not attempt to do the sleeve until my stomach healed.that was 7 months ago)I have vivid memories of the preop liquid diet and how awful it wad so now I'm gorging, until my preop liquid diet.. can't help it. Am I a sicko or what?
  11. Good luck, I'm so happy for you!!!
  12. I'm loving these answers. .Thanks! !
  13. Hi everyone I'm sure this question has been asked a million times before but I was wondering is the band surgery less painful than the sleeve surgery? Or should I expect a longer and more painful recovery with the sleeve surgery? thank you for any feedback. Oh by the way I had my band taken out 6 months ago.
  14. Hi everyone! ! I'm Alene from California and my surgery is scheduled for July 8 yipeee!! My pre op diet consist of clear fluids like broth, tea, popsicles, one week before my surgery. I'm so excited for all of us!!!
  15. I'd like to lose 130 lbs. That would be so life changing for me.
  16. I don't know the statistics on band erosion, but I spent 5 years throwing up healthy food. I sure hope I have better luck with the sleeve.
  17. Hi everyone! ! Well last October I tried to get my band to sleeve revision. The surgeon was able to take out the band but was not able to revise me to a sleeve because of all the damage the band had done to my stomach. So my surgery is scheduled for July 8th and I'm so excited!!! it will be 9 months from when I had my band taken out and hopefully my stomach has healed enough for my surgeon to do the sleeve!!wish me luck♥
  18. Thank you so much Kristina :-) I am so happy for you too!! Keep in touch and please let me know how you are doing. I had to laugh when you called the band, evil little things. ..lol!! They certainly are. We're on our way!!!
  19. I got it!! I got the approval for the sleeve!!! Here we go again. I'm going to wait a few more months just to make sure my stomach has fully recovered from the damage that the lapband did to my stomach. Yay!! ♥♥♥
  20. Thanks everyone. I hope the ins carrier is as nice and understanding as you all ♥
  21. Hi everyone!! I'm new here. Quick backround... had the Lapland 5 years ago, it was awful. I threw up almost every day. Fills unfills..it was a nightmare. My insurance *** approved me for a conversion to the sleeve. After surgery ( last october) the surgeon said he took out the band but my stomach was damaged from the lapband and he wasn't comfortable doing the sleeve. I was so bummed. He said he could try again in 6 months. Which will be April. Do you guys think my ins will still cover it? I'm wondering how I can convince my *** that I need another surgery.
