how many people never need a fill?
Fluid was put in my band during surgery, but I was not very comfortable. On day 7 post op had it all completely removed (4.2cc) The surgeon had said my stomach wasn't very large and it was loose but I guess with post op swelling, it was just too tight. Healing up nicely now, but still don't need a fill- it is so strange. Everyone is starving before getting their fills- I keep waiting...

112 grams of protein
I buy a none-flavoured whey protein powder from GNC that I mix in my milk. It can be added to cereal etc. That works for me. I was so sick of the optifast pre-op that I needed something not sweet.

Where did u first notice your weight loss?
I am pear shaped. I always have had great difficulty in losing in my butt and legs. Always gain in the upper area last and lose there first. But this time around I lost in my face and neck first of course but now my pants are falling off and my tops still fit. Strange Strange Strange. Must be my age??

JulieNYC's Lateral Thigh Lift and Brachioplasty
Julie did you have your outer thighs done this time? I will need an inner thigh lift. I'm worried about that because I hear that the scarring is pretty bad and can migrate into the groin. I also hear that it is pretty painful. What has your ps (father) said about it?

Can't tolerate it...
There is alot to learn. I didn't think it would be a big deal. But the way I eat not so much what is the hardest for me. To eat slow, to chew- as soon as I get my plate of food, I forget and start to eat normally. Then I feel the lump so I tell myself slow down for pete's sake, chew darn it. I hope soon it will be second nature- but for now... 49 years of habit to wipe out.

Are you exercising?
I've not been to faithful with the excercise thing. I want to walk 1/2 hour a day until week 6 but in Canada it is cold! I hate being cold. But I got out yesterday and will today. I start back at horse back riding tomorrow. I do have a gym membership. I just have to make myself- so hard, I can be so stuborn.

Intimacy
Considering my own situation, I have no advice to give you, I'm afraid. But you do have to decide for yourself, what is important to you and what you want for yourself. You matter too. (I'm learning that and trying not to feel guilty about it)

Lost Weight But No Clothing Sizes Change...
I've lost 35# but haven't changed clothing sizes yet. All my life I lose in the top first and then in the bottom but this time its the opposite- which has really thrown me. My pants are loose but all my tops still fit.

how many people never need a fill?
Yesterday was 5 weeks and I did notice that I am feeling a bit hungry from time to time. The last 2 days I was able to eat 1100-1200 calories. Maybe the honeymoon is coming to an end?

Can't tolerate it...
Getting stuck really does scare you, so I know what you mean. I have been stuck a few times. I pb'd once as well- now that is a horrible experience. I just have to remember to chew and slow down. I am sure it will be a habit soon. I find that it is such a small portion of food and it is hard for my head to be satisfied with it- but that part is getting better. I am starting to by happier with my small plate of food and it really does fill me up. I was really grieving the portion size at first.

Intimacy
I never planned on not having sex with my husband either. But you try for 27 years to be the only one who wants to. You can't make someone desire you when they don't. I put up with the rejections for years and kept going back for more, for the sake of trying to make my marriage work. Relationships are not that cut and dried.

how many people never need a fill?
I wonder if just having the band resting against the stomach is enough? I am sure I still have some swelling because I'm not quite 5 weeks yet. But I sure can't eat much. I do pay attention to the soft symptoms that I get and stop eating.

I can pretty much eat anything I want as long as I take my time and chew really really well. After you have food stuck, it sure teaches you a lesson.

Do you eat 800 to 1200 calories per day? Please Come In!!
I am trying to get up to 1200 calories per day. I have only made it once but I am aiming for it. I really don't want to lose too fast. I think that if I do my skin will be a problem. Anyway, rarely hungry and it is great! I use my plate to count calories.

I'm not holding my breath. I keep peeking around the corner, because I'm sure Mr. Hunger is lurking there wanting to grab me. (just don't know when)

how many people never need a fill?
I am 4 1/2 weeks post op and still not hungry, still fill up fast and can't imagine needing a fill. I had my first PB today (horrible experience)- so I know that I am not too loose. I know that some don't ever need a fill. Anyone on this forum losing wt without one?

When is your 1st fill?
I contacted the doctors office today and they said that about 10% don't need fills. I am wondering if I am one of them? Might be to early to say. I do need to up my calories to 1200 per day and I think I will be able to manage that. I have done it once before (but not with good choices) I have had all the fluid removed from the band, so it is completely empty- weird eh?
