I cannot remember ever being a healthy weight... By the second grade I was wearing "husky" pants and I joined Weight Watchers for the first of many times at age 14 with my mom. The closest to my "goal weight" I've ever been was 30 lbs, and I even lied about my height because I thought I had a better chance of getting to goal if I was an inch taller. I, like probably most of you, have let my weight damage my self-esteem. Since I've never been completely successful with whatever weight plan I've done, I've felt like a failure. I cannot even imagine what I will look like at a healthy weight...it is beyond my wildest imagination. Now I'm ready... I am divorcing food as I have previously known it, and it has been a mourning period because I know my relationship with it will forever change. My pre-op liquid diet starts on Monday and I admit that I am ready...scared, nervous...but ready. I am fortunate that my husband, my parents, my siblings and my closest friends stand beside me in support.
