6 weeks Post Op

Hopefully the fact that the scale moved 2 weeks in a row means that the stall is over! It didn't move much, at least not compared to the first month but it's going down. So whatever speed it chooses to move is fine with me!

I have been trying very hard to listen to my body and eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full. Right now that's about 800-900 calories a day and I'm feeling really good. I have good energy and feel healthy! And my libido is in full swing (Hubby is loving the current hormones...LOL) ;)

I am trying to bump up my intentional exercise. I have plantar facietis so when I walk too much I am in alot of pain, so I'm trying to rotate between walking and riding my bike. (Just to give you a visual, I have a super fun green cruiser bike with big flowers and and a basket!!). Monday I rode 6 miles AND took my dog on a short walk (she's a sausage dog with short legs so she doesn't walk far  Gonna shoot for the same thing today. I'm trying to figure out the whole gym thing. I want to join one mainly so I can swim but haven't decided if I can justify the money. Then I could alternate between walking, swimming and biking...Hey wait, that's almost like a triathalon...right??? :P Whoo-hoo Go Me!!!

I was six weeks out on Monday. Awesome job! I have a foot thing too, and went to the podiatrist and finally sucked it up and spent some $$ on orthotics and they changed my life. I'm able to walk now without pain... I can't wear flip flops (pooey) or really cute flat shoes, but being able to walk everyday is really helping my weight come off. I find that if I'm walking every day the scale moves a lot faster. You go girl!

  • Congrats to you! I am going to buy me a new bike after my surgery on the 30th. I am so excited. Thanks for the update, it's truly inspiring.

Congrats. That is great that you are able to eat. I can eat, but I can't eat slow enough and then that fullness hits and --- whoa! I feel like exploding. Then I try to just take 4 bites and stop - don't get full and feel like I am starving.

I'm 7 weeks out. Exercise really makes a difference is losing weight. I do stationary bike for a 1/2 hour and elliptical for an hour, and I see a huge difference on the scale. I joined 24hr Fitness - only $40/month.

Congrats on the Libido - I don't notice any change. Wish I did...

Good luck to you and keep up the good work.

I am six weeks post sleeve. I eat like a bird, only open my bowels once every 10 days and haven't lost anything for three weeks. Weight loss started off really well but just stopped. I have only lost 13 kg (32 ibs) in total . I can only eat about 3 to 4 small bites and that's it. My 4 year old grand daughter eats more than me . Why cant I shift it?

Hey Ms Vicki! It does sound like The First Stall has indeed ended, yay!

I say join the gym, get your swim on :) And, as you progress on your journey, you may decide to try the various classed they may have and/or use their machines for strength training. IMO, having the gym membership will give you exposure and access to new and cool things to try, and therefore keep you motivated to keep moving!

lol I am SO looking forward to that whole energy and libido surge thang! :)

keep on rockin! :D

I wonder what's wrong with me, too! I had my sleeve on the 20th of March and lost 24 pounds and then not a single ounce in the last week!!! WTH? Maybe this is more common than I realized so it is good to hear that others have stalled. I did up the excercise a bit today so let's see if that does the trick. Good luck to all!

From everything I've read its VERY VERY common to have a stall at 3-4 weeks. But even knowing that didn't help a whole lot when it was me! LOL...

I'm just waiting for one of those specials where they waive the enrollment fee...then I'll be joining a gym!!

My husband is completely enjoing the libido surge thang! LOL *wink wink* Hope it lasts awhile!
