  1. I had surgery on July 22. I didn't have a drain and I didn't have pain. I was prepared for gas pain and stomach pain. My surgeon said he tries to extract as much of the gas they pump you up with as possible. He must have done a good job. I walked as soon as they let me and walked often. Only used my morphine pump a couple of times the day of surgery and that was because they told me to use it before I walked. Would a drain have made a difference? Since I felt so good, I don't think so. It might have made it worse. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  2. Thanks, I just ordered one off your link. Looks good, Sent from my iPhone using VST
  3. Try Palmers Firming Butter. It really works. The moisture seems to stay longer. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  4. I could drive right away as long as I wasn't taking pain meds. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  5. July 22. Lost 32 pre-op and 12 post-op. I guess i was hoping for more post, but I'll take it. I am an older (68) sleever and have about 60 more to lose. My surgeon said older and less to lose can mean a slower loss. Trying to be happy that its going down and not up. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  6. They can tell if you have a hernia or anything else that needs to be repaired while they're in there. It's pretty routine so don't worry. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  7. Was reading this while waiting for eggs to boil for egg salad for lunch. Made my egg salad with hummus and a little mayo. Yummmm!!! Thanks for the tip. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  8. Actually, I've found the same thing. Went to GNC right before surgery with questions, got no real answers except WLS people buy this. Didn't buy that day. Couple days later went to Vitamin Shoppe with my husband. The young man listened to what I needed and made educated suggestions. He spent time with us explaining things and didn't rush us. Needless to say, Vitamin Shoppe is my preference now! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  9. No weight problems till college. Put on the freshman fifteen and it stayed. Gained after each of two babies. Hit my forties and gained more. Yoyo dieted until finally doing the right thing and got sleeved last month. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  10. Only one week out and hit my first hard reality. Depressing!!!! I hadn't been on the scale yet, but was talked into it by someone who told me it would encourage me to see the first loss after surgery. Well, guess what??? I weigh two pounds more than I did on surgery day. Can't tell you how encouraged I'm not feeling right now. Sorry, Laura, that you are having such a hard day. We all know we're going to have them, but it doesn't make them any easier to deal with. Hope tomorrow is a great day for you. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  11. Have to have three protein drinks a day. I have to mix the powder with water. I can also have Isopure clear liquid protein drinks. Monday I start full liquids and can have creamed soups made with milk (strained) and sugar free pudding. I can make protein shakes with milk then, too. I can't wait for Monday. 12. I find room temp or warm goes down better also. Five days out and not doing too bad. Drinking is my whole life right now! LOL Sent from my iPhone using VST
  13. Five days post-op. Never really had pain. Do get uncomfortable though. Started getting all my Protein in the day after I came home from the hospital. Still struggling to get all my Water in. All in all I'm not doing bad for a 68 year old broad! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  14. Sleeved on July 22. Came home on Wednesday. Really no pain. Some occasional gas discomfort but nothing bad. I was getting all my Protein in yesterday. Still trying to get all my liquid in though. Working on it every minute. A little emotional today. All of a sudden weeping over I don't know what. Not much of a crier, so not liking this at all. My poor hubby keeps asking what he can do. Does the emotional stuff go away soon? Sent from my iPhone using VST
  15. I really want to sleep!!! Went to bed at 10:45. Got up at 12:30. Can't go back to sleep. Tried walking, tried pillows, tried I Love Lucy. Not in pain. Don't have gas. Just can't sleep! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  16. I was cold today. Second day home. Got all my Protein in and now I'm warm. Does protein make you warm? Sent from my iPhone using VST
  17. I just got all my Protein for the day in. I didn't expect to on my second day home. I'm still working on Water though. That's a little harder. It's not that I don't like it, I'm just running out of hours in the day. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  18. I just came home yesterday. Not nearly as bad as expected. Maybe I'm just lucky. No real pain, just a little uncomfortable. I took two ten minute walks outside today! The sipping is just constant. If you're not sleeping, you must be sipping. LOL. Good luck tomorrow. Update us so we know how you are doing. Sent from my iPhone using VST
