  1. I'm 2 weeks and 2 days out since surgery. Every day these symptoms are getting worse. I saw my surgeon yesterday and he said it was normal. I'm getting enough Protein and fluids. He says patients who suffer from severe depression (I.e. me) tend to feel this way for about a month post op. I guess what I'm asking is; how did you combat this? I'm not functional at all. I go to clean, and I have to sit or lie in bed after three minutes. I don't trust myself out and about to do errands.

I've lost 21 pounds since surgery and I think most of it came from my boobs! I was a tight 42 DD and now my bras are sooooo loose!!
  3. I'm 2 weeks out and without too much detail... My sex life with my boyfriend is up and running!!!
  4. I didn't really have a choice about who to tell. I did this surgery self pay in the US and my mom paid for it, so she told a lot of people about it and her struggle to get the money together. I haven't announced it on my Facebook yet, just because I want to do a "big reveal" of sorts. When I found out my mom was telling everyone I had to get over the fact that it wasn't a secret. I was doing the absolutely right thing for my health and I don't regret it. My boyfriend who doesn't have a weight problem was sooooooooo excited for me because he's watched me struggle with each new complication my obesity has caused. The nights I spent in tears due to my weight. He told EVERYBODY! So, no secrets here.
  5. Yes I take them every day and this frequency of bumps and boils is greatly reduced. When I do get one, its not nearly as bad and doesn't leave a huge horrible scar. As for side effects, I haven't noticed anything personally, but it all depends on how your body reacts to antibiotics. Some people are against taking meds like this, but my condition was so bad I could hardly walk. So it was worth it for me. Good luck!!!
  6. I have to chime in here. I've been suffering from Hidradenitis suppurativa since puberty. It's painful, ugly, and embarrassing. My doctor put me on a cocktail of 500mg rifampin and 500mg clindamycin 2x a day and it has helped so much!!!!! Just thought I'd share
  7. I'm 21 and I have never: -been able to shop outside the plus size section -been able to hold a job that required standing for a whole shift. -been asked to dance at a club (been going out since I was 18 ) ....ill add more later. This is making me sad.
  8. I feel ya. I was sleeved 2/12 so I'm lucky if I can eat 1/8 cup of puréed food. Ive been cooking for my boyfriend and I sit there with my tiny bowl and watch him shovel it in. He's doesn't have a weight problem though... Lucky man. I wonder though... Does he even breathe between bites? I admit I've taken his plate away a few times so he would actually chew and swallow his food before he took another bite. What else can you expect from a 22 year old man? Lol
  9. Yeah. And I'm on the depo shot so it shouldn't even be an issue!! Though my periods have never been normal. Grrrrrrr, the annoyance of a uterus sometimes.
  10. I started my insanely heavy flow while on the operating table.... And it still hasn't stopped at over 1 wk out.
  11. So I'm not cleared for exercise yet, but I'm itchin' to get my body moving other than walking. Suggestions??? Gahhhhh
  12. I can kind of relate here. I actually started my period DURING the surgery! I'm 9 days out and STILL bleeding heavily. Oh, and I'm on depo provera shot :/
  13. I've been trusting my ambien since this started with me. I know exactly how you feel. I've been up since 3 am and since I have no work tomorrow I just took another dose. This insomnia sucks. Glad to know I'm not alone with it. I really hope you start getting some good sleep soon!!
  14. Personally, i didn't shave anything for several weeks before the surgery because my doctor said there would be no surgery if there was any razor burn or open cuts or any irritation, especially near the surgery site ( i.e. armpits & bikini area). I also didn't want the discomfort of stubble while i was healing.
  15. No I didn't. I didn't really eat any until I was about 4 days because I was in soooooooo much pain. But I'm 1 week out now and puréed foods are my best friend
  16. Hey! I'm 8 days out since surgery and I think you just stole my brain monologue. No, you are not alone. I'm just as scared as you are and we aren't the only ones either. I have no advice on how to beat this, but I can tell you that I understand.
  17. Just downloaded. My username is rosiemiranda.
  18. I feel ya on the "burpy" feeling.
  19. I love the roasted pine nut hummus. Though I haven't had it since surgery because I just have to dip carrots in my hummus.
  20. A troll is someone who posts just for attention and tries to specifically start an argument. This whole thread is making me very sad. It's hard to communicate online because tone of voice and body language don't exist. It's hard when it comes to stuff like this.
  21. I went from clear liquids at the hospital to puréed food right when I got home. I thought it was weird but my doctor has success with this so I didn't question it.
  22. I just discovered yesterday that if I add just a little apple juice to the water it doesn't cause me any problems. I was in the same boat as you.
