    Please pray! I need it!

Yogurt might be okay for you. The only shake I could tolerate is the "body by vi" mix. You can find a rep or order it off amazon. It doesn't have that strong protein taste. If you like, you can put yogurt or peanut butter, etc. in it. I like it plain. Not too sweet. Make sure you are getting your fluids above all else. You don't want to get dehydrated.

I struggled with intake for a while. Even 8 weeks out, I still have some issues. I had to start on Nexium because the reflux was severe. But hopefully you will adjust soon. Praying you start to make a quick recovery.
  4. I have a friend who mixes it with the almond milk and likes it a lot. Almond milk doesn'thave as much protein, but you may be able to tolerate it better. Or also try the Silk soy milk.
  5. Sorry, it is 12 grams of protein plus the 8-10 in the milk. So about 22 per shake. Borden high protein 2% milk has 10 grams as opposed to most others having 8. My nutritionist recommended it since I was having trouble getting in enough protein.
  6. Body by Vi is a protein mixture of both soy and whey I believe. I agree Melissa 114, the only one that doesn't gag me. I try to drink at least one a day to supplement my protein.

  8. I had a hard time tolerating most shakes. What seemed to taste fine to me before surgery, was too sweet and rich after. Most of them gagged me. I wasted a lot of money. I finally found one I can drink. It is the "body by vi" protein drink. It is a high quality, easy to digest protein with lots of nutrition. The powder is 90 calories for 2 scoops with 30 grams of protein. It taste good by itself, but you can add frozen fruit, yogurt, etc. if you like. I personally like it without any additives. You can buy it from a rep if you know one but can also find it on amazon.

You are asking for prayer, so you are a woman of faith. Trust God! He brought you this far, he will see you through. Prayers going up for you!
  10. Thanks srpiccollo. Hopefully your weight loss will be faster. You are a lot younger so that is in your favor. Good luck!
  11. I am a type II insulin dependent diabetic. I am 8.5 weeks post surgery and have lost 27 lbs. I lost about 20 in the first 3-4 weeks. The last 4 weeks I've only lost about 7 lbs, really none of that in the last two weeks. scales haven't been moving. I'm very discouraged. My dr. did say that insulin therapy can slow weight loss but I'm hoping to hear some other stories about this topic and when people did start seeing more results. I have started exercising and trying to get more in recently. My calories are still under 800-900 a day. Although I take less insulin than I did before surgery, I have not been able to get off of it. I take about 30 of lantus at night and approximately 8 units of regular insulin before meals with carbs. PLEASE ADVISE! Kathy
  12. Thanks for the input Mokee. They lowered my insulin right after surgery but it was too much and glucose numbers were high so had to increase again. Yes getting diabetes under control was the biggest factor in my decision for surgery. But it looks like you are moving right along so hopefully I will too. Good luck!!!
  13. Surgery date was 1/17/13. Down 27 lbs. But most of that was in the first 3 weeks. Nothing in two weeks. Getting a little discouraged. I think insulin may have something to do with it. Trying to stay positive!!
