  1. It has been a while since I've checked in. In the last month I did a 34 mile charity ride here in LA. I am still looking for other "banders" in LA to ride with. I am training to do the MS 75 mile ride in September. Is there anyone in the So-Cal/Central Cal interested in doing it with me? Tuono John
  2. Yes, mine hurt the next day like I had a sore throat. It is becasue the tube that they put down your throat to breath can cause irration. The "Beat Up" feeling is last night when you were sleeping your spouse took out their feeling on you. John
  3. Hi KatieBee, My wife has been in the same situation, and now that she has lost over 125 lbs people are starting to ask questions. She just tells most people that she has been on a "Diet". The ones that are really overweight and need help, she tells them about what she did, and gives them my business card. I also work at a Lap Band Surgery center. I have lost over 150 lbs since I started. John
  4. It is best to leave it alone. It will come off when you are healed. Our doctors tell patients not to try to take the glue off. As my doctor told me "LEAVE IT ALONE!" I know this from first hand experience. John
  5. It is under the skin. You'll never know you have it. I ride motorcycles, bicycles, etc and it does not effect me. I have changed my shirt in front of people that do not know that I had the surgery and they don't suspect that I've had the surgery. Don't worry about it. John
  6. I saw you post, but I did not read it until after I went to eat. One of our doctors that installs the lap band bought us lunch. We had chinese food. I had a little chicken and some beef. My down fall was thsi cream cake with fresh fruit on it. Oh well whats an extra 25 miles on the bike this weekend. I will eat with moderation, but I refuse to deny myself. John
  7. Freindship, that is an interesting topic. I have gained friends because they can relate to me to me as a thinner person. I have people that want to be my friends now because I'm thinner, but they did not like me when I was fat, so I don't want to be their friend now. I have my "Fat Friends" who I hung out with when I was fat, but now some of them don't want anything to do with me now that I've lost 150 lbs. It's their loss. My wife and I had the surgery 11 months ago, and life just keeps getting better. I don't know how it could get much better. I went from someone who did not like to have my photo taken to someone who has starred in a commercial that shows on TV several times a day. I was featured in a program that will be on the Style Channel next spring. I look better, feel better, and can now shop for clothes where "Normal" people shop. Yeah it's pretty bad. LOL John
  8. My wife did it last summer, and now she regrets it. She had a lot of problems getting back to her "Sweet Spot". She said she would not do it again. John
  9. We did a diet and exercise program through Lindora that counted as the 3 month medically supervised diet. Becasue our BMI was still over 40 we were approved. John
  10. You can keep that Snow! I am going to go ride my bike this weekend. I think it is freezing and it is going to be in the Mid-60's this weekend. I'll take California any day! If I want to go to the snow, I can be there in 45 minutes. If I want to go to the Beach, I can be there in 30 minutes. Oh paradise is lovely this time of year. John

  12. If the wounds are very hot, and very red or white. If it looks likes it has puss in it then it might be infected. When the body heals it will generate some heat. If you have kept them clean and dry they should not be infected. John
  13. How long has it been since surgery? Sometimes it is gas left from the surgery, especially in shorter women. John
  14. Ok now I am feeling more out of place than ever. It seems like it is just women that are getting there groove back. What about the guys out there? Am I the only one. I am starting to feel like a pervert feeling like this. John
  15. I thought that I was the only one feeling like this. For a man of 50 yrs old I should be loosing my sex drive, but that is definitely not the case. I am driving myself crazy! Unfortnately my wife who had surgery the same day is not having the same effects. I don't know what to do. Sex is all I seem to be thinking about. Everytime I see a woman that is the first thing that comes to mind. I guess that I should be happy at least that it is what I think about when I see women and not men if you know what I mean. I guess that I will have to keep taking matters into my own hands if you know what I mean. John
