  1. 10 weeks out, 26 pounds down. Starting weight 216. Height 5'2. Eat less than 30 grams of carbs, I honestly don't count calories or fat, just the carbs. Walking now about 12-15 miles a week. Surgery date 3/06/2013. I try to eat 60-90 protein a day. Very hard to get the fluid in but I am working on it. I am 49.
  2. Wow! You don't even look like the same person? Great job!
  3. I was sleeved 3/6, I also had a great recovery. I have had no food intolerances either. Happy to see so many had easy recoveries!
  4. I am 49, had a complete hysterectomy at 28, so I have been post menopause since then. I too am a slow loser compared to others 27 since 3/6. But I am finally embracing the fact that I am not everybody else, I can only be me and do the best I can. Plus at our age we need less chance at all that loose skin LOL. You look great though!
  5. Yes I have BCBS and it took about 4 days. Congrats!
  6. I swear I have lost faster in the past. 8-10 lbs a month with diet and exercise. Sleeved 3/6 and have only lost 23. 16 was in the 1st month so only 7 lbs the 2nd month. I really thought I would have lost like 40 by now. Surgery day weight 216 now 193. I am only 5"2 so my BMI was 38.1 not real high but not really low either. I am 49 so not real young but I have seen people older than me lose a lot faster. I must just have a slower metabolism, also I had a complete hysterectomy when I was only 28 so this may also be a factor in some way. I know it will come off eventually, but I want it now!!! LOL Hang in there it will happen for you too.
  7. Can someone please add me to the FB page please? textink@hotmail.com

  11. All the pics are inspiring. Great job to all!
  12. This is after 23 lbs. 57 more to go. Sleeved 3/6/2013
  13. My doc only allows 30 grams or less of carbs. The nut said the less carbs I eat the better, so of corse I don't eat bread.. But I don't have to count calories or fat. She told me to try now for 90 grams protein, she said the more protein I eat the more I will lose as long as I watch the carbs. I have lost 23 since March 6th.
  14. I love food! Does that make me an addict? I really wouldn't say I over ate everyday, but definitely on some days. I did however eat a lot of the wrong types of foods. French fries, chips etc..my highest ever was 243. Sleeved 3/6 195 now down from 220 starting on pre op diet. Still have the cravings, I just don't give in for fear that I won't stop. So I would probably say I am an addict
  15. 4 weeks out and stalled now for almost 2 of those:(
  16. I am almost a month out. I felt the same thing at about a week. It is so strange how so many of us felt like this. I am doing so much better now! Don't worry it will pass in about a week or 2.
  17. They say you can't get blood from a stone - well, the IRS tried! Too funny!
  18. They told me at the hospital to just have a friend or family member hold on to valuables until I was transferred to my room. They said there was no where else they could keep it and be responsible for it.
  19. I weigh every morning and before bed.i actually hate it but can't stop! Crazy I know.
  20. Oh and I don't wake up in the middle of the night to sip water or walk. If you have support hose wear them when you sleep, do your walking during the day.
