  1. roxannez, I love hearing positive stories like yours! I am about the same as you starting out. I am having nothing but positive thoughts about my surgery which is on March 8th.
  2. Since I live overseas and don't have access to Costco, I have ordered all of my shakes and soups from Diet Direct online. I am using the Bariwise brand. All of the shakes, clear broths and cream soups have 15 grams of protein per serving. It's free shipping over $49 and you also accumulate that come off your next order. I plan on using these pre op and post op.
  3. I have a 2 week pre op. I have to drink 2 liquid meals and 1 "Lean & Green" meal. If I am really hungry I am allowed to have liquid "snacks"...Yum! I am really not too worried about this. I have probably done this kind of diet a hundred times over the last 20 years, give or take a few!
  4. KanesMom, Hopefully when you are the topic of converstation it will be because you are looking so fabulous! And thanks BigDaddyJoe for putting together the list! Looks like we are on the same day!! I am trying to keep everyone straight. I start my pre op diet on my Friday your Thursday ( I am on the other side of dateline)!
  5. I am self pay and am paying $10,400.00 cash. It is a bit more if you pay with your credit card. My surgery is also outpatient.
  6. I dont know if any of you are flying any long distances, but I ordered some protien drinks in small plastic bottles where you just add water and shake. I thought it would be handy for the plane. Then just throw away when finished.
  7. I have ordered a brand called Bariwise from Diet Direct. They have protien drinks in fruit flavers like lemonade, pineapple mango etc. they aer petty good. But I am still pre op and I have heard that tastes can change. Good Luck!!
  8. Holly5.3 You are too funny!!! Your food comment sounded like the story of my life!! I am a little over 4 weeks out and I can't wait!!
  9. Everytime I read that there is someone heading into surgery, I am on Pins and Needles until they post again after surgery!! Congratulations to all of todays new sleevers!!
  10. So yesterday I wrapped up all of my pre op preparations for my trip to Las Vegas. I will start my pre op diet on the 22nd which consists of 2 liquid an 1 "Lean and Green" meals per day. It's going to be a challenge since I will be in the land of "All you can Eat Buffet's"!! My first appointment with my doctor and then nutrition class is on March 7th and then surgery on the 8th. I am nervous and excited at the same time. It's great to have others that are feeling the same to share with!!
  11. I am having my surgery done in Las Vegas from Dr Thomas Umbach. My surgery is out patient and I am kind of happy about that. I am not fond of hospitals. His self pay price was pretty good, too!
  12. I also have Aetna and my plan does not cover WLS at all. So I will be a self pay patient.....
