  1. The shakes have 160 calories and 30 g of protien...the bars are the Atkins Advantage bars, they have 250 calories and 17 g of protien. My preop diet is for 2 weeks...i have 1 week left from today until surgery....
  2. Yes...it said to have a shake AND bar at breakfast, shake AND bar at lunch, shake or bar for snack in afternoon and shake for bar for nighttime snack after dinner. I thought the same thing!! Lol. I feel like I need to replace lunch with maybe soup and water. I feel like I'm consuming too much...
  3. I feel like I'm eating too much I'm supposed to have 2-3 protein shakes a day and 2-3 protein bars a day and one meal with 5 oz of lean met and 2 cups of veggies. I've only lost 6 lbs and I'm one week away from surgery. Should I have like maybe soup for lunch instead of a protein bar and shake? I'm afraid I'm not gonna loose enough in time for my surgery and my liver will be too big! HELP ME!! Lol!!
  4. I'm on my preop diet too. Surgery is 2/26. I hate them ALL except the premier protein from Costco. These are pretty good compared to the other ones. Only kind that hasn't made me gag yet. I'm heading there tomorrow to get some cases!!
  5. Prepping testing done! So far so good! EKG was good, upper GI just showed a mild hiatal hernia but he said its pretty common.
  6. Day 3 for me :-/ I still feel like I'm consuming too much. Maybe it's just my paranoia...who knows! Lol
  7. Oh my!!! Preop testing tomorrow...labs, Chest Xray, EKG and Upper GI. Its all becoming so real...exciting, nervous, stressed, worried...but mostly ready to start my new healthy life!! My last 2 worries are that something will show up on preop that will delay my surgery or that my liver won't be small enough surgery day....
  8. Oh my!! I'm right there with ya! I have to have a protein shake and bar for breakfast and lunch a protein bar for snack and I can have 4 oz lean meat for dinner with 2 cups of veggies but can only choose from my surgeons list he has. I don't like the protein shakes and I'm struggling with it. But oddly...I feel like I'm consuming too much maybe I'm just paranoid and afraid my livers gonna be too big for the surgery.
  9. Hi!! Things are going ok...lol. I started my 2 weeks preop diet yesterday...it's been rough but i know it'll be worth it in the end! 2/26 is creeping up quick and im starting to get nervous! How are things with you?!
  10. Thank you for the responses!! I'm more worries about the hair loss than I am pain from the surgery! Lol!
  11. I know...I know....of all the things that I'm nervous about. I've been taking 5mg of Biotin for about 2 months now before I even got approved for surgery or even knew that hair loss was one of the "side effects" from the sleeve. Will the Biotin even help prevent hair loss after surgery? Is there any other vitamin I can take to help prevent it?
  12. a coworker of mine just brought me a vanilla one.....i'm having an extremely hard time finding one I like. I really like this one!!! I will be making a Costco trip with my sister this weekend! I hope they have them in stock!
  13. I'm at forest park...but hey we're gonna be the 26th sleeve buddies! Yay!
  14. Congrats!!! Mines the 26th also!!
  15. Mine was through insurance. We have BCBS Massachusetts... I only have to pay $1500 out of pocket and BCBS pays the rest. Dr Nicholson is a really great guy! Super awesome bedside manner, laid back and will crack jokes with you! It's the insurance ladies that could have a little bit better customer service so to speak. Just bad communication...but I'm dealing with it because Dr Nick is one of the best and I really like him. Good luck with yours!!
  16. Thank you for all the replies! I feel much better! You guys are awesome on here and so supportive! It's nice to have people to talk to that's either going through or has already gone through the same things. I really appreciate my new sleeve family!
  17. So I got my surgery "packet" in the mail today. It was a whole 2 sheets and go me no information at all. I'm a little upset because I had to find out via mail that I need an EGD now. I specifically asked my surgeons office if I needed one and was told no and now I do. Why can't people get stuff straight?? Now I'm worried they're gonna find some freak thing on my EGD and I won't get to have the surgery. Has anyone or can you not be able to have the sleeve done due to something on EGD? I don't have any stomach problems or reflux unless I eat something super super spicy.
