Weight watchers
I think it was the billing department. I did the online weight watchers. Just my receipts worked for me. I'm assuming my doctors office submitted them to my insurance. Mine didn't require it but I got them anyways and gave it to my coordinator.

Weight watchers
I just emailed weight watchers through their contact us and told them I needed proof that I was a paid member and the next day they emailed me my receipt showing how much I paid and the dates on a weight watchers letter head.

Peoples reactions to weight loss surgery
I wondered the same thing! I've told my family and some coworkers know. They've been extremely supportive. I'm very proud that I'm taking this step...a few did ask me why I needed it and that I didn't look that overweight...I think to myself I'm 5'2" and weigh 224, I tell them that I have PCOS and hyperinsulemia which makes loosing weight on regular dieting nearly impossible. Then they're like oh ok. Again, I'm very proud that I'm doing this and kinda wanna shout it from the rooftops! Lol. I think this is going to be about 100 times harder than just dieting and exercising so the people that wanna judge me for it can just kiss it. Lol!

How many times is too many to call your insurance?
Well another day gone by and still no response on any of my questions regarding surgery from the doctors office. My last email I sent was early this morning and I even offered to come in for an appointment and pay a copay to get my questions answered, I still received no response...I also made my daily call to BCBS...they say its still pending. It was a week today since they sent in my paperwork. I'm really hoping I hear something back from somebody tomorrow!

- BMI 41 no comorbids...what are the odds?
Thanks everyone for the replies!! Hopefully we'll find out something soon...I wouldn't be this worried but I don't have the best luck and with me starting a new job in march I'm a bit on a time crunch- Who else is waiting on approval?
I hope we all get answers soon!! Good luck to everyone! Maybe this is our week!- Who else is waiting on approval?
I'm going through the same thing with them not responding to me. I just had questions about the surgery itself and no one will respond.- How many times is too many to call your insurance?
Wow. I just meant that I didn't understand why they haven't at least responded to my questions about surgery in general. I am a surgery scheduler for 2 surgeons and I'm the one that obtains precerts on all surgeries. I know how it works and when I have a patient that I know needs a certain date or can't reschedule I always call their insurance for statuses daily. I had yet to have one denied. I also respond to patients when they have questions about their surgeries. That's all I meant.- How many times is too many to call your insurance?
I had some other questions about taking off work, if I needed to take out any piercings, things like that and they just won't respond to me... I don't get it. I'm a surgery scheduler for 2 surgeons and I always return phone calls and emails.- How many times is too many to call your insurance?
Well I broke down and did it. I just called BCBS MA and I'm getting conflicting answers. The insurance person at my surgeons office said she sent everything in on Tuesday. BCBS says they got the paperwork Friday. My surgeons office won't return any emails or voice mails...i don't want to get rude with them but I feel like they are just not concerned with anything. I will be starting a new job in march sometime and I want to have my surgery between leaving this one and starting my new one and ill have time to heal and they know this and just seem to be unconcerned...- How many times is too many to call your insurance?
My paperwork was submitted last Tuesday and I called this morning at 8am and it was still pending ...I'm debating on whether I should call now during lunch or not. How many times is too many to call in one day? Lol- Any sleevers in the Rockwall, Rowlett, Garland, Mesquite, Dallas Tx. etc. area?
I'm in Forney! My surgeon is Dr Nick Nicholson...I was submitted to insurance on 1/29. I have BCBS MA so hopefully ill hear something soon!- Newbie - Just Starting Out
Hi Khloe! I had my consult with Dr Nick Nicholson on January 25th! I loved him! My stuff was submitted to insurance on 1/29...hopefully ill be hearing back soon...the anticipation is killing me!- BMI 41 no comorbids...what are the odds?
@carrie43- awww thank you so much! It's nice to know there's someone with the exact same struggles as me! @ruffus- thank you!! I hear BCBS Massachusetts is the easy insurance to work with...but I'm just so worried still...this is something I want so much!- BMI 41 no comorbids...what are the odds?
Thank you so much everyone for the replies!!! I'm so nervous about getting denied I'm having a hard time sleeping...ugh!! Hopefully ill know something for sure Monday!!- BMI 41 no comorbids...what are the odds?
@lessofmeismore- I don't think so...it wasn't listed as one on the prior authorization form. BCBS Massachusetts mailed me a copy of the medical policies along with the prior auth form and of course that's the first section I looked at was cormids to see if I had any. Lol.- BMI 41 no comorbids...what are the odds?
Yah, my plan didn't have any pre reqs. Just needed a BMI 40+ or 35+ with one co morbid. My husband keeps saying I'm gonna get approved but I keep telling him he's just trying to make me feel better! Lol. I'm just so nervous it's not gonna happen...I don't have the best luck with things like this- BMI 41 no comorbids...what are the odds?
I'm in the waiting game now... I called BCBS Mass today and they told me my case was pending. I'm relieved that its at least pending, but now I'm worried I won't get approved. I have a BMI of 41 with no comorbids. I have had PCOS for close to 10 years, infertility and migraines. I am on Metformin for insulin resistance and Zonegran daily for migraine prevention. I know these technically aren't comorbids but I never had migraines until I became overweight. My OB GYN and also my surgeon Dr. Nicholson says if I can loose the majority of my weight my PCOS symptoms will drastically improve or go away. I have tried so many diets from WW to Atkins to 5 months of Phentermine. I'm tired of struggling and so desperately want the sleeve I'm trying to be positive and have the attitude that "I'm getting this surgery!!! it's going to happen!!!" but deep inside I can't help but think "I'm not that lucky"..... What are the odds I'm approved or denied? The anticipation is eating me alive!!! - BMI 41 no comorbids...what are the odds?
