  1. I need to jump start the weightloss, especially since I have put on almost 10 lbs!!! Going to buy my ingredients today!!
  2. I lost 68 lbs without any exercise and not watching what I ate! I have not lost anything in about 6 months and in fact have been struggling to lose 5 lbs that I put on!!! I have to start exercising if I am to lose anymore weight. So ,yes you can still lose but eventually will have to work at it
  3. This has happened about 4 times and three of them in the middle of the night. I get this tight, burning in my sternum and back - it radiates, feels better if I stand up and almost gets tight in my jaw. Lasts for maybe 5-10 minutes then goes away. A few weeks inbetween episodes. Help
  4. I has lost 67 lbs but I keep going up and down the same 5 lbs. I will admit that the weight I have lost was with no effort on my part - does this mean it is time to get serious? I do not exercise and do not really watch my diet - slim fast in the morning - picking throughout the day, regular dinner and ice cream. I need some butt kicking!!
  5. I guess it is time to really start working at this. I hate to admit but the 65 lbs I have lost, I have done with really no effort - meaning no exercise and not "really" watching what I eat. I wonder if this is what the drs mean when they say you will lose 30-50% of you body weight? Just wanted to publicly admit that no surgery is a cure and yes you actually do have to work if you want to get to goal. I want to get down to 230 (100 lb loss) but now as I realize my remaining loss will be work I am bummed!!
  6. I have not posted in a while but I am down 65lbs and 35 more until my goal of 100 lbs. I am a slow loser and have to admit I never excersize and do not really watch my diet. I am going to now step it up and get going to lose the last 35!
  7. We were at a wedding last night. I had eaten at the cocktail hour and was experiencing some "stuck" issues. We were waiting for the bride and groom to make their entrance and I knew I had to go to the bathroom to pb but there was no escape. I was stuck at our table. I stood up hoping maybe the food would go down but I started with the watery mouth and before I knew it - blah - PB'ed in my hands!!!!!!! I bent down behind my husband and took napkins to be discreet but my whole table had already seen the nasty event! I was mortified as was my husband - the pb got on his suit jacket and chair cover. It was really bad but after a few more glasses of wine I was fine and thankfully our table was good friends who were aware of my situtation. Ugh!
  8. Hi I weighed 330 before surgery and now I am 270-274 - keeps going back and fourth! I am 5'6"
  9. I am going to a doctor who specializes in diet/nutrition and prescribes phentermine for hunger suppression. I have 40 lbs to get to my first goal of 100 lbs lost and feel I need some help - my fill is good. Has anyone gone this route?
  10. Wow! Never thought I would get this far and less than 40 lbs until my first goal. Slow losers rule!!
  11. I am 32 and lost 55 lbs in a year and YES I have a slight turkey neck. The skin does not bounce back. I hate it!!
  12. This is what I have found when I compared Old Navy size charts to Lane Bryant size charts - Old navy has almost 2 more inches in their measuremens than Lane Bryant (waist, hip) I wear a 22 in Old Navy and a 24 in Lane Bryant for pants without any stretch and I can wear a 20 in Old Navy and 22 Lane Bryant for pants with stretch (jeans, etc)
  13. I had a stomach virus since banding and it was awful - I just kept dry heaving because I did not have alot of food in my system from the day before. It was terrible
  14. A typical "wide open" meal would piece a couple pieces of pork, a serving of greenbean casserole and serving mashed potatoes - mug of ice cream for dessert. I do not usually eat during the day only coffee and crystal light.
  15. I could have written your post. I just had my one-year post op appt and told the doctor that all day I am tight and at night the flood gates open or some days I can sit and eat like I have no band and other days I am too tight for any food. When I can eat on those "no-band" days I take advantage and then want to kick myself for it!!
  16. Official weight this morning was 277 - down 53 lbs! Yes, I am a slow loser but happy with my progress - lovin' my band!
  17. I only had to fast the day before surgery so I had alot of last meals. Every doctor is different so I would call the office and talk to the nurse or doctor.
  18. I had my surgery done by Dr Bertha and yes his bedside manner is not the greatest but now that I have gotten to know him a bit better over the year since surgery, I really like him. He just tells it like it is.
  19. No matter now much I chew it any type of bread is a no, no for me - same goes for rice, pork, shrimp, chicken, salad and steak.
  20. I am happy I have lost over 50 lbs in one year and feel really great. 50 more to go and would not have done this without my trusty band!!
  21. I had a "too tight" fill and it was awful - I really did not eat for three weeks - everything, and I mean everything was making me pb. I had that fill removed and now have another fill and in the am I am tight but by the evening I can eat. I have found that my band is picky - some days I can eat more than I would like and other days I pb on everything. But yes, you can be tight and the am and not so much in the pm
  22. I started this journey at 330 lbs and wearing a size 28 pant that were tight. Happy to say that I now can wear 22's!! and 18/20 top!
  23. bypass results the same after 5 years. Yes we lose slower but after 5 years the results are the same as a bypass patient. The article continued to say how surgeons are now realizing that the band is the way to go and some are only doing bypass on high risk patients (ie - heart problems, etc..) Anyway just thought it was interesting
  24. I have 2.6 in my 4cc band. Was hard to eat at first but must be loosening up a bit as time goes by.
