Attention February 2013 Sleeve Buddies!
The pain was bearable. More then I thought it would be. You get good meds and that helps.Today I am just sore, no pain. The hardest part is rising. I turned on my side and grabbed something.

Attention February 2013 Sleeve Buddies!
Update-- Sleeved on feb 11. Went home next day. Today walked a mile. Have only lost 5 lbs, a bit disappointing but I will take it. Feels weird when I eat. I actually feel hungry, eat small amount, feel so full and then hungry again. Not sure what that is about. A few tips bring a heating pad and your own pillow to hospital. get out of bed as soon as you can. best protien powder--twin labs. I have tons of others(If you want let me know) That was the best pre-op and still is. Found isopure juice flavor today. it is tolerable and has 40 grams of protien. On sale at vitamin world this week. Also try to get mini supplement if you can. So many vitamins you have to take and the smaller the better. Not as bad as I thought and happy I did it. Let me know if you have questions

Pain Level/Post-op discomfort/nervousness
I had my surgery this week at Penn Hopital. I did have pain but it is manageable. I sometimes cant tell if it was gas or not. A lot of rumbling and strange feeling when I try to eat but noot sur eif this is normal. I was surpringly calm and I am a nervous person. I had decided to do it and was confident. I have a friend with me moostly to take care of my children. Am off most of my meds and that is great

Heart rate?
Fever can cause increased heart rate. I also have increased heart rate if I eat to much. I think the body is working hard to digest. I had an echo and stress test before surgery which is tomorrow. Hoping being smaller will help

33 BMI and scheduled for VG...
I cant imagine not being hungry. I always want to eat. It is like a monkey on my back if I can use that metaphor. I want to be free of it ( and wear some tight jeans) Also sick of diabetes meds that make me sick. Even if I can decrease them it will be great. Thanks for your stories

I made a HUGE mistake and God Willing I will learn form it. Ate food 10 days Post-Op
Sounds like you will be fine. Stop beating yourself up. Keep some protien powder around. My doc lets you eat soft foods after 2 weeks.

33 BMI and scheduled for VG...
I am loving this thread and have struggled with the same issues. I am 183 and 5'2. I have to work very hard to maintain this weight, have been overweight my entire life. Last year went to a weight loss spa, lost 5 lbs. I feel if I dont do this I will continue to struggle and I am tired of the battle with food. I also have diabetes, hbp and sleep apnea(mild). I am looking forward to not focusing on food, having freedom from food and being healthy.

boyfriend
I agree, he sounds selfish and immature. he doesnt want to babysit his own kids. Take your Mom. She will be more attentive. I wish you much luck and a resolution. Oh and health.

Thanks, I have a lot of nausea on a good day. It is from the medications I take. I am hoping surgery helps with the meds. I had this stupid idea that less stomach, less nausea, sounds like this is not true. Will have to take it one day at a time. Huge snowstorm expected in Northeast, hoping all goes well.

Hi Fellow Sleevers, Have had my date Feb 11 and got my time 630 am. I am surprisingly calm and I am someone who gets nervous at the dentist. Athough l drastic I feel it will be the right thing for me. I enjoy reading other stories and it has given me a lot of insight and plenty to think about. I have not shared with many people that I am having surgery so I love the support on this forum. I am nervous about waking up in the recovery room. Is it disorienting? Thanks
