  1. you forgot "make you pee your pants funny"
  2. What a great list! Here's mine: 1) go caving in the "wild" part of Mammoth (maximum chest circumference = 44 inches) 2) SCUBA certification 3) be able to snorkel without asthma attack 4) buy lingerie at Victoria's secret 5) indoor rock climbing 6) be able to excercise without needing ibuprofen 7) be able to sleep through the entire night (without waking up 10 -15 times because my back hurts or I can't breathe)! 8) wear my wedding ring 9) horseback riding on the beach 10) get to Onederland!
  3. Has anyone here used Dr. Preeti Malladi in Dallas and/or had surgery at Methodist Dallas? If so, any feedback? Also - anyone in the Methodist support group that meets in Mansfield?
  4. I had an appointment with my internist today. He was VERY supportive of me having the sleeve procedure. He listed all the ways I would benefit. Don't know why, but it really made it seem real to me that I am going to do this and that I'm definitely doing the right thing. I have all my pre-op appointments scheduled over the next 2 weeks - seems like things are starting to move along very quickly. I have gone from indecision, to trepidation and now all I feel is excited.
  5. Thanks so much for telling us about this - found it at my local Brookshire's yesterday and it's delicious!
  6. Now I am craving cheddar cheese curds
  7. One of the pre-surgical goals I was given by my team is: "Take chewable or liquid Multivitamin and Calcium citrate supplements daily" (this becomes 2x/day post-op) Does anyone know why I can't just take my regular multivitamin tablets, and why would I need to start calcium pre-op? Also, what are the best tasting/least nauseating Multivitamins?
  8. Oh my gosh - I am so slow
  9. I have to respect that - even though it's still driving me crazy
  10. This is driving me crazy - please give a hint To me, some of the most entertaining threads are those that contain blatant ignorance or infuriating opinions - is that wrong? Also - can I get a seat at the cool table?
  11. I'm 5'4'', 242 pounds, 45 years old and live in Texas, too! I hope to have surgery in July at Methodist, Dallas. I would like to keep in touch with both of you because we all seem to be starting at about the same place.
  12. Future Darwin Award winner right there! I guess she never made it through middle school, or she would have heard of chlorophyll.
  13. I posted on another forum on this site a few days ago. I was trying to get a support group together for RA and other autoimmune disorders. I'm pre-op and am very happy to see that you seem to be doing better post-op. I typically take about 1800mg of ibuprofen daily (I know, I know), and it terrifies me how disabled I might become if I can't take NSAIDs post-op. Any advice, encouragement will be greatly appreciated. I have decided to have faith that as my obesity decreases, my inflammatory levels will decrease, and my hands and feet will not be as swollen and painful.
  14. Thanks for sharing this link! I think it looks about like me if I add an extra 20 pounds to it.
  15. gorgeous! congratulations and thanks for the inspiration!
  16. Hi all - I am still pre-op, and one of my greatest concerns is becoming wheelchair bound from my RA if I can't take NSAIDs. I would love to hear from others with this or similar conditions, and perhaps start a support group,
  17. Both my aunt and my father waited too long on gall bladder surgery and ended up with ruptured gall bladders. The recovery was much more dangerous, longer and painful than mine was. I scheduled laparascopic surgery as soon as possible after my trip to the ER - and it was outpatient. For the relatives I mentioned, they were hospitalized for 4 and 6 days, respectively, and had open surgery instead of laparascopic. Good job firing your PCP!
