  1. I am a "Newbie" waiting for approval also. So let's cross our fingers and toes!
  2. Thanks Ballermom! I was reading your stats and I see that your 3rd pre-op is today, does that mean your surgery is on tomorrow. If so, best of luck!
  3. Congrats on your weightloss and be encouraged! You did this for you, so forget the co-workers.
  4. Greetings everyone! Hope all are well! I am new to this and don't quite know where to begin, but here goes. I haven't had my surgery yet. I've been on my gastric sleeve journey since around Sept 2012. My first appointment with Dr. Turton was on Oct.11,2012. I didn't have the 6/7 month waiting period for the medically supervised weight-loss that i've heard so much about from some other patients. All of my requirements thus far, have been met and documentations were just submitted to my insurance on Jan 08,2013, so I am anxiously waiting for my approval. For as long as I can remember, I have always struggled with my weight. I was a widow at the age of 25 and I have 4 beautiful children. During my pregnancies, I lost on average 20-25 lbs and about 6 months after giving birth to my babies, I gain the wait back. I've tried many of diets, but nothing works. I was diagnosed with high-blood pressure about 8 years ago when I went to get a pap and i've been on a mild blood pressure pill every since. I thought I was healthy because I was walking 3 miles daily and I didn't feel bad or like anything was wrong. Today my knees hurt. I now have arthritis, which now makes it a bit difficult to walk sometimes. I chose this journey for myself, but also for my children. I want to continue to see them grow up and I want to be around to see my grandchildren. I want to live healthier and to feel good about myself. I am so ready for this. I wish you all much success with your sleeves and a speedy recovery for those who may be hurting and experiencing any difficulty right now. Be Blessed,
