  1. Temporarily have buyer's remorse / regrets is a NORMAL POST -OP phase. Be grateful if you didn't experience it but more WLS patients experience it than not. It passes just like the liquids and purée food stages. I'm glad I did go thru it, as it made me realize my recovery was pretty much normal
  2. I did not tell my husband until I had everything setup and a surgery date set. He was initially less than supportive but has since turned into a great advocate. Everyone's marriage is different. I didn't need the stress of him in my ear with negativity while I was going thru pre-surgery process. I let him know it was MY body and MY health and he either needed to get on board or STFU. I told him what I needed from him by way of support and if he couldn't do that, fine but don't stand in my way. Took him a few days to take it all in( and knowing my husband he did a lot of google searching in those days) but he was ok after that It worked out fine. He took days off work to be with me postop and is happy with my results
  3. Congrats!! I was told light exercise as of yesterday. 3 weeks out. I'm so excited for you. I'm ordering that tape from Amazon today. Thanks for all of your help
  4. I got to normal BMI (160) in 10 months. The last 15 took about 4 months
  5. I had no boobs at 280 so of course I have nothing but wrinkled skin at 140-ish. I'm a push-up bra queen. Scared of implants
  6. My give-a-damn meter sees things like that as a someone trying to accidentally-on-purpose put you on public blast... My response would've started with "b-tch please"....
  7. I'm wearing it about 18 hours a day. I wear it most all day and almost all night. I seem to get irritated about 4am. For last few mornings it's been off about 5am til about 9 or 10. I'll look into the taping. The incision otherwise is flat and looks good Im only 3 weeks out (well in 2 days I'll be)
  8. I guess it's more puckering than a dog ear. Dr says it's still to early to determine and to wear compression garment. Yes insurance (Aetna) paid for panni I'm using FMLA time from work My company doesn't participate in government disability insurance. We get paid as long as it's FMLA approved
  9. My otherwise pretty decent incision scar has a dog ear on the end. I'm very upset considering how cocky my Dr was about his patients never getting them
  10. My VSG was 08/12. My PS was 03/14 So I was 19 months out. I made goal weight at 10 months out and hadn't lost any significant weight since 13 months out in 09/13
  11. I couldn't do chicken or turkey for first year. Well I could eat chicken salad but no other way. No chicken tenders or fried or any other way. I can do fried no as long as I take most of the skin off
  12. Also I can't do certain veggies raw.... I eat cole slaw almost everyday but can't do cooked cabbage. Same with broccoli. Same with tomatoes.
  13. It's the rice for me. I can eat any kind of food but rice doesn't sit well. It doesn't always come up but it leaves me in pain.
  14. I got the email and love the idea and hope someone starts a group in my local area because from what I can see, support groups are few & far between That said, it's just not for me. I'm the type that of person that prefers the anonymity of message boards
  15. Congrats! 200 grams of protein is fine. If you get into heavy weight lifting and marathon training, you may find that you need to up your calories again. Your body will tell you.
  16. Muscle Does not weigh more than fat. A pound of feathers weighs the same as a pound of butter
  17. I have some of my recent post-plastic surgery pics on the cosmetic forum. Thread titled. "2 weeks til PS"
  18. I was hours away from having my gall bladder removed because I showed similar symptoms and had WLS. Dr's assistant tried to make me feel silly for questioning the need. Dr told me non surgical options for treating bad gall bladder. A HIDA test was recommended and it proved my GB was functioning at. 99%. Unnecessary surgery avoided. Be your own advocate!! Ask questions. If the Dr makes you feel silly by asking then you gave the wrong doctor
  19. I credit Probiotics with aiding my weightloss as well as keeping me regular thereby not often needing a laxative. Even those may be directly related. Regular vowel movements = weightloss ?
  20. I'm 5' 8" and wear a size 4. I'm 145 pounds. It was not a huge struggle to get to this weight from my high of 280 pounds.
  21. I use this as well and there are more flavors on the real lemon website
  22. I used to find it everywhere. Then could only find it on crystal lite website. About 2 months ago there was an online clearance and I worried it was being discontinued. But now I see it in Wegmans.
  23. I use stevia. And there is a crystal lite version made with stevia called crystal lite pure.
