  1. Not sure how big a chicken finger is, what with reginal differences and all. I would hang out with the fill for a while before making that sort of decision.
  2. Hi Jini, the greatest thing about my band is that I didn't die from resperatory failure. You see, before Iwas banded, I spent the last two years in and out of the hospital, on extra breathing treatments, on oxygen therapy, lots of trips to the ER, lots of extra treatments of prednisone. So, the best thing is that I'm still alive. Does it get any better than that? I have not seen the typical weight loss, but I've had more than 50 Non-scale victories. (check out my signature.)
  3. Lone survivor. All your loved ones are dead, slain by the forces of evil. But you stand strong. Good work. You got 9/10 correct (I still think Godzilla could take out King Kong...)
  4. Hi Amiefletch PBs are personal to everyone. I can eat sandwiches if I'm careful, but toast is a no-no. at least toast with Peanut Butter... chicken is really difficult for me, and hamberger meat is easy. My DH is the exact opposite. He has no problem with toast or chicken (usually) but ground beef and bread do him in. Hope this helps. And from fill to fill you might find you can tolerate different foods in a whole new way.
  5. Woot! Here's hoping yoyr recovery was as rappid as mine!
  6. very odd about the new fill. Maybe you need to have 4 small meals with sensible Snacks. This way you avoid the GET-THE-HELL-OUT-OF-MY-WAY!!!!---I'M GONNA EAT EVERYTHING feeling, which we know gets us into trouble. You might also try the "just for today, I'll make better choices" line of thinking
  7. I don't think that the surgery is a direct cause of the thrush. It is more likely that having the surgery compromised your immune system and allowed the thrush to take hold. when I have to take capsles I do so with a hot beverage and I sit with the dang capsule in my mouth until it feels like it's practically ready to disolve. Then like Kathy said, I wash it down with more beveage (the hot tea or cold water).
  8. Yup, I recommend keeping a food diary. At this point don't worry about counting calories, just write down waht you eat. Most importantly, DO NO JUDGE YOURSELF at this point. If you have a couple of cookies, write down that you had the cookies or what ever it is. Once you've kept the journal for a couple of weeks, then start counting not only calories, but food groups. Then do the same with excersize. Are you parking your car further away or are you constantly looking for the closest space? You know all the tricks for adding walking possibilities. Make an appointment with your local aftercare person, it is very possible that you need a fill. Good luck and welcome. Most importantly, be kind to yourself!
  9. That was a PB from the sounds of it. It doesn't mean the band is too tight, it just means that you had trouble with the milk and cookies. It could have been too many cookies, It would have been all sorts of things.
  10. Well, it's not like he didn't ask for it. I'd say it was completely justafiable.
  11. You are too funny!
  12. Hey Madona, I don't think you are a failure, your BMI is still down, and you haven't regained any of the 36 pounds you lost, right? Sure sounds like a success to me!
  13. Here are my results weight 238 underbust 40.5 waist 40.5 hips 43 A cloak from Nana~ here I come! Crap, I just check the stats that Nana~ posted... Someone feed Mandy and Connie some hot fudge sundies, quick!
  14. Wow! amazing work! Amazing baby!
  15. *snork!* It is never too late to start excersizing, nor too early. Chunk's suggestion for window shopping is great. Of course, we don't know what you starting fitness level currently is. You might want to hire a personal trainer and get a fitness assesment. Or you might want to check out your local college to see if they can help you out there.
  16. I'd wait until you get home from your vacation. You don't want to end up too tight far from home. Get a fill when you get home.
  17. Capt'n Jack, sir, I am aways in awe of your way with words.
  18. Sorry Pamela, I didn't experience this, but I went back to school ... And I was still very ill with breathing problems that I was probably too tired to be weepy...
  19. Excellent work! We are all so envious of you!
  20. vinesqueen replied to a post in a topic in The Lounge
yeah, I think it shrinks, but I can't prove this
  21. Congrats Becky! Now that you've posted your amazing loss, you need to post where you started from. This will give people a better understanding of your journey. I know you started at a very high weight (not as high as my DH though ) and people need to understand that your journey is quite different from most. You've done amazing work and have every right to be pleased as punch!
  22. while an all ice cream diet does have all of the appeal of, well an all ice cream diet, it really isn't good for you. Yes, you are too tight, go for an unfill.
  23. Holy crap! You set yourself up to fail by setting a totally unrealistic goal, and when you didn't reach the unatablable, you feel like a failure? Snap out of it! Zoe Get your boot out for this one! Tough love time for Corinne! I don't have any idea why you set such a goal. Is this what your doctor's office set for you or do they even know you set this for yourself? As for the sizes thing. I have some size 20s are too big and some 22s that I feel like I'll never fit into. It's very likely that the french fries are making you feel crappy. When I eat a lot of potatoes my joints hurt. Just a matter of fact. As for the mayo thing, well, it sounds like your are punishing yourself. It is also possible that after 6 months of a very restictive diet (probably low fat) that your body has said that you need to have fat. We all require fat to metabolize certian vitamines, notably A, E, K and some others that I don't rember off the top of my head. You know what you need to do woman, you need to get back on the wagon. You need to start posting more. And you need to beat yourself up less. You've lost more weight in 6 months than at least 2 Turtles have lost combined in a longer period of time. Just to put things in perspective, you've lost a 4th grader. You've lost a average 9 year old boy.
  24. My DH had a similar experience as well. He was in hospital for almost a week. Of course, he had special issues all his own
  25. Ah ha ha ha ha! There is a world of different between drinking water and eating chicken! I generally have no restriction when I drink water either, although I did have this one episode with crystal light... Chicken is the thing I probably get stuck on the most. There is a big difference between being filled and not. There is even a big difference between being filled and not being at the proper fill level! There is also a big difference in the healing stage.
