I need some serious advice/buttkicking

Recommended Posts

I am 7 months into my journey and I have had some ups and downs. This last 2 weeks seems to have been the worse for me by far. I had a fill a couple of months ago and seemed to have great restriction. As I mentioned in another post it gradually started disappearing. I went to see my Dr and put on 2 kgs. He gave me a fill. Since having the fill, I notice that I can eat less at a sitting but I am so much more hungrier quicker. I mean hungry as in gut rumbles. I feel as if I am constantly eating and that 2kgs has turned into 3.5kgs(7pd). So in 2 weeks I have put on that much. I am at a loss what to do. Because I have put on weight I am also not giving a stuff about what I eat, I am making very bad choices and not caring. It is this vicious circle that I cant get control of. Each day I have woken up thinking good choices today etc, but I fail...again. I just feel so out of control and hungry. I dont know what to do. :)

Winding up foot for a buttkickin'... :)

Just kidding! It's normal to have some ups and downs, but you're doing great! It is so hard to get back on track once you get in that junk food mode. You're going to feel so much better once you get just one good day under your belt. Eat your hard Protein first, don't drink with your meals, try try try to get a workout in. You can do it!! :):):) Hopefully that fill will kick in a little more. Good luck!

I'm so there, girl. The cycle of dissappointment and frustration. I can't differentiate head hunger and real hunger, that's for sure. But I also feel like my body is trying so hard to maintain it's weight...I mean, it's as if it doesn't know there are 50 more pounds of fat stored all over my butt and thighs and belly!!! I want to say "Go get it already!!!!" but it just tells me "feed me!" and so I have been losing and gaining the same few pounds...stuck between 193 and 196 for weeks and weeks now.

Maybe we are thinking too hard? I know I get on here and comiserate about weight loss, think about my food and exercise, what can I do, get some ideas, get a kick in the butt, then my regular life off the 'puter has nothing to do with it!

I don't need an LBT break, but maybe I need to quit fretting so much? The only thing that concerns me is that if I don't watch out, my 193 to 196 will turn into 196-199. No way, Jose! I'm NOT going back up over 200 again, even when I weigh at night! NOT doing it!!

Sigh. I don't know. I didn't help at all...just talking out my butt and getting frustrated, too, because the words that come to mind and get typed are crass and crude (ie: talking out of my butt) so I'll quit before I start swearing!! lol

(((((hugs))))) girl. Lets row this boat together for a little while.

Look! Just Look Kellie at how much you've lost!!! Don't lose sight of that, and remember that this is a LIFELONG process. So maybe now is the time to take a look at the Head Game that goes along with this process. Certainly, there is a huge physiological piece to hunger and weight loss, but there is also a big psychological piece, the Head Game that goes along with it. Maybe the challenges is to NOT FREAK, don't panic, and don't cross the "What the Hell Line" into eating whatever. Make a few behavioral changes, like changing up your diet, doing some different exercise, etc., and then sit with your hunger and feel it or analyze it . . . is it coming from somewhere else? Is there any other reasons for feeling so out of control, and what is it that is sabotaging getting back in control? This is the hardest part for me, I think. There are times when it just feels impossible, and other times when I feel so empowered - what makes the difference? Hang in there, you're doing so well, and don't let fear drive you into a bad place!

very odd about the new fill. Maybe you need to have 4 small meals with sensible Snacks. This way you avoid the GET-THE-HELL-OUT-OF-MY-WAY!!!!---I'M GONNA EAT EVERYTHING feeling, which we know gets us into trouble.

You might also try the "just for today, I'll make better choices" line of thinking

Yes, to echo what Vinesqueen has suggested, if getting through one day seems to big then try one hour. Anything to help keep you focused. And dont forget the NSV (God I love them!!)

Best thing you have done is to share your delima here. The support this forum has to offer is worth all of the M&M's ever made!!! I find a little something in every post I read.

Just keep on truckin Kel, you'll get there! smile.gif

Cheers!!

*hugs* Kel. You've done great so far! We all have our ups and downs .. and when we're having our downs, its so hard at times to pick yourself back up. You're right - its a viscious cycle.

At your meals, are you eating hard Protein? That's gonna keep you fuller for longer (I know I don't need to tell you this though lol, we've all had it drilled into our heads enough).

Are you still going to Curves? If so, its very possible you're putting on muscle. That's a great thing. If not, get back in there lol - you're paying for it so you might as well use it *nods*. Do they have a service whereby they call if you stop coming? My personal trainer used to do that and it always made me pick myself back up. If they don't, I'm happy to call and harass you :)

Keep your chin up though. Plateaus and gains suck, but they're only temporary and we will get through them!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
