what is this feeling?
Every doc is different Saul. I was told that I could have anything that would fit through a straw. For me, liquified soup was A-okay! And yes, welcome to FULL!

Dr. Bruce Banner... Cushing's patient?
Okay, we all know that Dr. Bruce Banner got dosed with too much Gamma Radiation, which turns him into The Increadible Hulk. So... I'm thinking that it was his Pit that got espeically zapped. His ACTH has to be affected, since he turns green. (I'm not sure where the ACTH is produced, so I could be wrong.) "You wouldn't like me when I"m angry" pretty much sums me up when I'm High... So is he cyclical with *really* short cycles, or full blown Cushing's? I edited this because I got his name wrong! Good think I married a Geek-boy-husband because he was able to straighten me out! Also, someone pointed out to me that The Hulk is green not because of t he extra ACTH, but breen from nausia. Some folks have nausia with their High phase... And most people agree, the Hulk is probably definately cyclical...

benign breast mass
well, the mass in my breast is benign. The whole process was so painful, and I ended up with tears streaming down my face as she mashed my breast in the machine. I don't know if there will be a bruse, but I'll be surprised if there isn't one.

The band just isn't working for me
5 sizes!!!! Woot! Ok, you have lost more than 3-4% body fat. Way more. At your gym, you should have the facilities to test your body composition. Really need to do this. I cannot recommend this strongly enough, especailywith your work out schedule. I'm serious. You've been beating yourself up for something that you shouldnt' be. Namely putting on muscle mass. We focus so much on the scale, when we shouldn't.

GB vs. Lapband
There have been dozens of threads on this subject. If you do a search on this topic, you will be quite surprized at the folks who've written on this subject. Good luck, and happy searching/researching.

In theory this should work...
heh, no way will you be eating calamari!!!! Unless you like squid flavored chewing gum... I don't honestly think anything can prepair you to be aware of what you will be eating until you are actually banded. My DH was banded more than a year before I was, and I still wasn't paired for myself. Some one on the board said that they though they would be find just eating a 6inch sub from a sandwich place for lunch after they were banded. I'm still laughing at that one. Because you will be able to eat so much less, the quality of your food must be the highest.

Trouble with fruit?
Some folks have a very difficult time with the skin on some fruit, including tomatoes, makes them "stuck" every time. As for the reflux/acid, it might be that they are exceptionally sweet and that is causing a problem? I would go with Jenna, and suggest trying something else and seeing if that helps.

Are you hungry?
Hi Scott, Some people don't experience much hunger after banding, while others get to experience real hunger for the first time. So many of us haven't not eaten to the point where we really are hungry. (I hope that makes sense) I know that I'm no longer consumed with food, as a general rule. Now when I'm on a cortiosl high, I understand what's going on. But when that happens, it doesn't rule me. A lot of new bandsters are quite upset when they discover that they still feel hungry after being banded. I know that some have reacted with this with anger and feelings of betrayal. They thought that they would never feel hunger again. But the band doesn't stop that. But it lets you feel real body hunger. For me, one of the keys has been to understand when I'm getting hungry, so I don't wait until I'm actually really, really hungry. If I wait to eat then, I usaully get into trouble and take too big of bites. And that will lead to being stuck or worse

Stomach bypass operation best for extreme obesity
Well, My DH had a rediculous BMI, something like 82, a meaningless number. But he weighed 600 pounds when he was banded. In 3 years he's lost 200 pounds.

ANYONE? Is there anyone up near Woodinville, WA?
Hi Halo, I'm in Bellevue. Welcome to LBT. Check out the food forum, there are some great ideas there. Who did your band, and what sort of support system do you have from your surgeon's office? 25 pounds since Dec would put you at just about one pound a week, so that isn't all that slow, you are on track for 50 pounds in a year! Excellent progress.

The band just isn't working for me
Hi there! I'm not the spokes model for the Turtle Tribe for nothing... :tea: If you are working out that much, you are rocking! And yes, I think it is a marvolous idea to get your FFM checked. Hopefully, you'll be like our Pat and have put on muscle mass like nobody's business! She gained something like 52 muscle pounds from her work outs. That means that she has even less weight to lose than when she started! Since you are working out like a fiend, you might really think about working with a nutritionist who specializes in athelets. I know, it's funny to think of ourselves that way, but if you are working like that, it's what you are. Own it and love it baby! (hurray!) You might even find that you will need to increase your calories to lose weight. Yes, I know that doesn't make a lick of sense, but that's why I recommend seeing a specialist, and not just internet souces. So, if on the other hand, nothing is working, and the band really isn't working for you, then it is time to start demanding answers from your doctors. Do not let any one push you away and tell you that you need to eat less, especially if you are already eating less! Demand answers from your doctors, DEMAND them I say! I don't think you need "tough love." I'm not a big fan of that approche myself. I don't buy into the "I hurt you because I love you." To me, that is abuse. Anyway.... Be kind to yourself.

Friday's UFC, a personal best
I've been on a dewsy of a High since about Thursday, I've been testing back-to-back since Friday night. (ok, I didn't test from Midnight lastnight to 10:30 this morning because the lab I use was out of UFC jugs.) Chris called me this afternoon, which I missed her first two calls. I was in the backyard sleeping under the maples. She called again this evening, and gave me Friday's results .... Friday I hit 299. The Gods only know what I hit yesterday and today, when I feel like I was much Higher than Friday. I should have those results probably on Thusday... I don't even want to think about what happens on Thusday. Anyway, Chris said they want me to come back down to OHSU on my next High cycle. So, that should be in two weeks, give or take. I expect to crash in the next day or so, if my pattern holds true.
