Okay got the results for my accounting, and I did okay. Not great, but all things considered, I am happy with what I got. Now I get to worry about calculus this summer!

Need some help with this liquid diet
Yikes! I sure hope I'm misunderstanding you Aileena! Please tell me you are not actually going to have real food! This is not the time for food, it is the time for healing! Also, you are no longer a dieter! The band means not having to diet! We are making a new life style for ourselves.

Skinny bitches
They may be skinny, but never skinny bitches!

Jealous husbands and lovers
I dunno Paula, my ex- was very jelous, and insecure. Turns out he'd been cheating on me our entire relationship. There was nothing I could ever do to make him feel secure.

Layed off so no more LBT for now...
Good luck in your adventures. Road Queen beat me to the punch, I was going to suggest libraries too. I think you are right, we don't have any idea how many lurkers there are out there. Again, good luck and remember, we'll always be here for you.

Skinny bitches
Oh my gawd, I worked with a woman like that! Skinny as a stick, with a bird like skelaton. Always had so much hair product and her hair was teased up to an enormous height! It was impressive. But she wore clothes that were absolutely skin tight that it was obvious that she didn't wear any panties. ... We were fixing computers, worked mostly out on factory floors so she was totally inaproprate. Of course, the day she came in after getting a botched colligen injection in her lips... that was too funny. Oh, and one day she dicided that I was sexually harrassing her because I was showing cleaveage. She didn't have any cleavage, and I have cleavage when I wear a turtle neck... Yeah, she was one skinny bitch alright.

Is this right?

Some questions I have...Please answer...
1. How long were you out of work? I'm a full time student. I had my surgery during spring break, and was back to classes the next Monday. Horseback riding two weeks out of surgery 2. Explain to me what getting "stuck" feels like. hmmm, I get a pressure, and well, suck. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful 3. How soon after surgery can you begin to excercise? crunches and walking the first week out, horseback riding starting the second week 4. Were you afraid to eat after the surgery? Nope, no fear. 5. If you have a spouse/significant other.. How did they handle your weight loss? Well, my DH has lost almost 200 pounds. To say I did the happy dance is an understatement. I've only seen him once since the surgery, for one weekend, so there hasn't been a big difference in his reaction to me. He's always just so happy to see me anyway...

Stop The Presses!!!
This is great news! Congrats, and somebody cue Jenna's booty shaking dance! I'm glad you chose the band, but Christina, you have to know that we would be supportive of you no matter what you chose to do. This is wonderful news! Just wonderful!

researching and news doesn't look good
Hi Regandy, welcome to LBT. My husband and I have both been banded, and never considered any of the other types of WLS. I believe my DH would have died from his weight if the Band was not an option. And it is possible that I would be dead in the next few years from asthma complications if not for the band. We have not experienced any sort of problems with our bands. He's been banded almost 2 years and I've been banded for 9 weeks. Yes, we have to drink lots of Water, but we have to drink lots of water anyway. Like Jack said, it's like oil for the machine. My DH has had to drastically alter his lifestyle, basically because he was killing himself with food. If he hadn't been banded, I wonder if I would be a widow right now. He weighed 600 pounds when he was banded. But he would have never chosen a different type of WLS. My surgeon is one of the ones who is banding folks who've had other types of WLS that need revisions. Feel free to PM me for more information if you wish. Good luck on your journey.

I Have An Option-need Your Advice
I look at the very faint scar from my gall bladder and can't think that my new port scar above the belly button is going to be any different. Yes, my band scars are currently a lovely eggplant purple, but I know that this will fade to practially invisible. Also, I sort of think having it placed lower would interfere with some activities that require bending and curling. But I'm a computer geek so take that with a gain of salt.

Comparison of All Weightloss Surgeries
I agree with what you said Alex, about it being desireable in the sort run, but I guess I am just a long term thinker. I guess I have to go back to my husband's experience. I have no idea what tiny percentage of the population are as fat as he was when he was banded. Heck, I don't know what percentage of folks are as fat as he currently is. I wish there was greater awareness of the band. I know that people are emotionally generally invested in the WLS they chose. I know that I'm no different in that I think my choice is the best one for everyone. I mean, that isn't true, but it is human nature.

wish me luck!
Thanks everyone! I've gotten some partial results, I got a "C" in statistics and a "B" in precalc/college algebra. I got an "A" in my horseback riding class too, and of course, I did very well in my security classes. I'm thrilled to bits with my grades, espeically considering the significant health problems from the first of the year. However, I still have to wait for my accounting grade. Had a nightmare about it lastnight. *sigh*

Amen sister! Also, there is some small comfort in knowing that I could take them in a bar fight.

He loves me, He loves me not
What a sucky place you are in now Diva! I'm so sorry. ((((hugs)))) I would say to listen to his actions, I don't know who said it, but actions speak louder than words. This was something that I had to learn the hard way, to listen to the deeds rather than the words. Actions don't lie. That's the problem with love. You have to be willing to be vulnerable in order to win the big prize. As for the question of "the best you could do." This might be tough to hear. Perhaps at the time you started to go with him he *was* the best you could do. That may not be true now however. Hopefully as we go through our lives we progress and gain some degree of wisdom. For some, that journy is sunny and easily traveled on a well paved road. For others, we have to struggle through swamp and desert and jagged volcanic rocks that tear our shoes and our feet. My DH is the best I can do. (I also posted this on your xpost in the Lounge)

Who can feel their port?
No fill for me, and I can feel my port

Hallelujah! I Feel Normal Again!
Great work! Any word on when you get your first fill? Yup, I agree, there is an emotional component to when you get to solid foods.

Broke plateau!
A loss is still a loss right? Congrats! Don't forget to track your inches lost as well as watching the scale.

hmmm, it is just me, or does anyone else think that malabsorption is a bad thing? Why would anyone think this was a good idea?

Hair Loss
I lost hair from the trauma of the surgeries. But it only lasted a couple of weeks. We shall see what happens at the end of summer. Delara may have to get a special filter for her pool!

To be full or not to be....
I'm 9 weeks out, had great restriction after surgery. I started on solid foods 4 weeks out, as per Drs orders. I've had the "suck" feeling on several occasions, but mostly that has been from medications, and only a few times from food. I've yet to have a PB, but I've had the excessive salivation thing -- usually more than an hour after I've eaten. Good luck on your research!
