  1. I asked my DH if he had any regrets over being banded. He said he regrets it almost everyday. He will see something and really want to have a good old fashioned binge, and binge for hours on that food. But he is so thankful for the band so that he cannot binge. His desire to binge is aperently still very great, but without the band, he'd be dead.
  2. Actually, lattes are a good source of calcium, if you aren't lactose intolerant. Jessie recommends having one in the mornings...
  3. Hey Kell, welcome to LBT. I had to laugh because I was positive there was no way I has sleep apnea. Not me, no way. Well, the way the sleep doc described it was "impressive." I HATE "impressing" doctors.

Okay, I had to read this several times. Your Band shrunk? How in the heck did that happen, it's sillicon for crin' out loud, it's probably impervious to heat and I'll bet it's non-stick too. But after reading you post several times, I realised it was you BRA band size that shunk, not you Band ...
  5. Well, You might be a freak, but I am one too... I still haven't been filled and I can eat everything I've tried, including cheeseburgers and french fries My DH insisted that I had some restriction, but I told him everything, and now he's kinda peeved Peeved in a loving way of course ...
  6. Heck yeah Aileena. You can blend anything you can blend. It really works well for mushy/soft foods too
  7. my DH has had such amazing results so far, and I didn't want someone to play plumber with my guts.
  8. Pat, I don't ever remember you coming to breakfast! lol, that is exactly how I fix them. My son and DH can't wait for me to come home for the summer. They are sooo tired of their own cooking... In addition to all that yummy fixin's on my eggs, I also have fallen in love with the new jalipeno tabasco sause. I could eat that stuff with a spoon!
  9. my DH gets the slimes big time. From what I understand, this is part of the process of having something "stuck." It won't or can't go down on its own, and the mucus is your body's reaction. It is trying to produce enough "lube" so the stuck thing can go one way or the other. I know if my husband tries to swallow the mucus, well, it just gets ugly. I know other bandsters have talked about using a spit cup during these attacks.
  10. Welcome to the Banded Gentry! Glad your recovery is going so smoothly!
  11. I'm with you guys! I've never PB'd and I've never come close to it either. I've had things get stuck, but I don't have the pain, it just ... stuck. Mostly this one nasty med that I have to take.... but no golf balls... Thank the Goddess! I've had the excessive salivation a couple of times but usually this only happens several hours after I've eaten, so I'm not sure what's up with that. [knocking on a whole forest] My husband PBs all the time, or gets the slimes what seems like ever time he comes to visit me. It might be the unexpected change in altitude (he always gets tighter when he comes to visit me) or he might still just be eating too big of bites.
  12. Welcome back, and congrats on the NSV! Now, dish the dirt!

Very cool about your BP Zoe! My sister has high blood pressure something terrible, so I understand some of the dangers of high blood pressure.
  14. You might check this link out, and try searching on "regret" http://lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=6811&highlight=regret I'm sure by this evening you will have a dozen answers to this post.
  15. Okay, I don't own a scale, except one of the little ones to weigh food. Truth be told, I hate them and believe they are all liers. So the other day, while I was trying to find a Crystal-proof pedometer (still looking) I bought a new gadget. It's a body fat analyzer, and calculates body fat % in a few seconds. It is made by Bell, the same maker of helmets of all things. And it has memory for 6 people. I spent $15 on it. So far, it is accurate, and the reading jibes with the scale from the fitness office at school. Body fat % is different than a BMI, because the BMI is just another scale... But best of all, with a body fat % of 42%, I'm overweight and not obese!

the other day the weather was on the wet side, so I zipped my jacked. Just like that, without even a second thought, zuup up the zipper went. And then it hit me. I. Zipped. My. Jacket! No wiggling, no struggling, no thought! Holy weight-watchers Batman!
  17. Welcome to LBT Krystal. (heh, that just doesn't type right... ) You might also be interested in the Yahhoo group called Extraordinary Bandsters. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/extraordinarybandsters/ My DH got his band at 600 pounds, and he belongs to that group.
  18. Welcome to the Banded Gentry! I'm so glad to hear that you are doing so well!
  19. I'm a full time student, and I work part time at NIATEC, National Information Assurance Training and Education Center, one of the centers of excellence designated by the NSA, for my student job/scolarship. My summer internship starts Monday at a very large Bank in their Windows security architecture group. Heh, I turned down an internship at MS this summer because I figured that being called back to the bank was better for my resume. Also, the Bank has one of THE largest networks in the world, and working on archetureal issues there will also be impressive. But being at MS again sure would be fun. ...
  20. My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner.
  21. I told two people and they told two people, who told two people .... Like that old Breck commercial. ... I actually told a big wack of people, but didn't want to tell other people... Well, I shouldn't have bothered, because my sister blabbed to our mother (who was surprisingly supportive for a wolf), and one of my co-workers sent out an e-mail to the entire company. It was hard to not notice that I'd done something. I went from looking like crap, serious crap from imminate respreatory failure to the bloom of health in two weeks.
  22. Oh, I'm going to pointy hair boss school. I'm getting a B.B.A which is the lesser form for an M.B.A. I have a double major of Computer Information Systems and Information Assurance (computer security, anti-hacker sorts of things.) If I can squeeze it in, a minor in studio art. Now that I'm done with most of the pre-requistes like math and statistics and junk, I can take interesting and fun computer classes. I'm soooooo tired of the damn hoops they want me to jump through.
  23. OH MY GAWD!!!! BANDIT! YOU ARE HEREBY BANISHED FROM LBT FOR THE UNFORGIVABLE SIN OF BEING HUMAN!!!! SHAME! SHAME! Oh please be kind to yourself!
  24. Hi Karen, No I actually haven't experienced the "my WLS is better than your WLS, so nya nya nya!" I think people are very invested in whatever WLS they have chosen, and espeically if you have decided on one of the non-reversable types. I believe it is human nature.
