  1. I think if you feel good about it, it is an NSV.
  2. Vera, I just wanted to let you know you've been in my thoughs. I hope you are taking it easy and relaxing for the next few days. How long will you be out of action?
  3. If you do start it Zoe, can we have a section where we can whack our DH upside his pointy head too? He eats big bags of nuts in a sitting. And has McDonald's shakes for dinner most nights in the week... He's never going to get to Tripoli... WAAA
  4. Thanks Kelly! Correction Lisa, he's been raised by a pack of wild dogs, I was raised by wolves.
  5. could I pretty please get a moderator to fix my pix so they are in a montage? Pretty please with a cherry on top?
  6. Hehe, had to laugh about "the hardness of the area..." IT'S TITANIUM, sorry, for some reason this has me giggling
  7. Yeah, probably the evil circus is a better analogy, but because we would litterally go for weeks without seeing a parent, we were half ferrel. But with manners, mind you. I had my manners litterally beaten into me. Funny, I'm pathalogically well mannered, but I won't do the dishes at night because I don't have too. And yes you can break those habbits. If I can stop hording, you can stop too. Okay, I haven't actually stopped hording, but I'm thinking about stopping hording. The first step is thinking about it, not actually doing it. When I get home, I'll post a great quote from Mark Twain about habbits. It goes something like "habbits are not something to be thrown out a window. They must be coaxed down the stairs, one step at a time."
  8. Well, it depend on where your hospital is, and how long you will be there doesn't it. If you are just going for a day surgury, I'd wear a nightgown or a caftan. I have a lovely lepord print caftan I wore, and no, you can't have it... yet. Depending on whether you normally wear a bra or not, or how comfortable going without one, you will need to make a decision on a bra. If you decide to to with a bra, I recommend you choose something without wires. A tight t-shirt or a sports bra will nicely corral the girls (or boys if you need a manzier) I cut the bottom band of a sports bra so it wasn't too tight. You will undoubtably have an incision mid-sternum. If you have your port placed in the European style, it will be on your sternum. Slippers. Yes. Stilo heels. No. Actually, a cofmy slip on shoe is the best bet, unless you are married to Prince Charming, that is. if you are staying over night, you will need your usual over night kit -- tooth brush and stuff like that. You will not need art projects, math homework of any sort (this includes finance or accounting btw) If you have sleep apnea, you will need your CPAP or BiPAP. (Damn thing) Don't forget it, because you will feel extra specially crappy in the morning. Clean undies. 'nuff said.
  9. This was absolutely wonderful! And sooo right (except for the nicked nipple, that is sooo wrong)
  10. Megan, it's magic. Actually, hit the quote button at the bottom of someone's post, and viola`! quote box. I had a doctor put me on a 300 calorie a day diet a hundred years ago when I had a body fat % of around 28% (not like my current 41.9%). I lasted about an afternoon. Lisa, ths was Dr. Billy? if so, now I have a crush on him.
  11. Welcome to Bandlandia!
  12. I think Jamie pretty much nailed it for me.
  13. Congratulations Lisa! How absoulutely freaking wonderful! I'm so proud of you for starting to figure it out! I think sometimes that those of us who were raised by wolves have a difficult time with stuff "normal" people understand. When you have crazy as your only model, well there is no way for us to be "normal." I wish I could give you a big bunch of helium ballons to celibrate your epifany. I've been thinking about us lately, you and me, raised by wolves. I don't really know anyone else who grew up crazy. Sometimes I wonder how much permanent damage was done. I know I tease about being raised by wolves and I know it isn't fair to real wolves out there. But I also tease that my son was raised by a pack of wild dogs... Honesty is always the best policy. Even if my PCP doesn't initailly believe me sometimes.
  14. well, maybe I understand. For me ice cream = love, but when I have ice cream, I generally limit myself to a small coffee cup, not one of my giant Coffee mugs is this for Coffee only.
  15. Keri, first off, THERE IS NO CHEATING. This is NOT A DIET it is our lives. Sometimes we will have chips or candy or something that is not healthy. Note I didn't say "bad" because there is no bad food, unless off course, you dont remember to clean your frige. My only other advice for you Keri is STOP POKING YOUR PORTS. Other than that, you are doing fine.

Sorry DeLarla, the thought of trying to air dry my body in Seattle makes me laugh... It would take HOURS When I'm in ID I make a body scrub with the almond oil, olive oil, rough sea salt (like rock salt), epson salts and lavender. Talk about soft! I don't need it at home, but the high mountian desert just wants to desicate me.
  17. do a search for "mush" and you will be amazed at what you find. Be sure to check out the ethnic much food thread too for some yummy ideas.
  18. sooo, it's a binge thing? I'm not a binger, so I'm clueless. I can't imagine "the desire never to stop."
  19. I won't be renting a car since that would just be silly given how busy I'll be during the week... If it was winter, I'd just wave at one of our swans for you. Oh wait, no swans in exile.
  20. Oddly enough, that is also the definition of testing software...
  21. I've seen several posts lately where people are bemoaning the loss of their food high, or asking if they will lose their food high. What the hell are y'all talking about?
  22. Ah hah! anyone notice it acting as a baromiter? Hmmm, I think I will buy a baromiter and track that.
  23. Gee Vera, you look so good in the red bikini, why'd you get a new band?
  24. I'm number obsessed too. I think part of it is that I'm just so darn impatient, and I want the weight gone NOW. Heck, it's been 3 and a half months since I was banded. Shouldn't I have lost 100 pounds by now? I mean Geez! Is that too much to ask? (jumps deftly out of the way of Zoe's boot)
