  1. oh yeah, Welcome to Bandlandia!
  2. SE ID is close to ND... As distance is measured by hours it takes to drive... June is probably out of the question for me though. It will be summer, and I'll be into my next intership by then. (probably DC) Okay, why would you give men twice as many toilets????
  3. DH and I have gotten to the point where we share an entree. We are never questioned.
  4. take baby gas drops or other gas medicine. Have someone burp you like a baby! Sleep! Don't drink a Dr Pepper!
  5. Yay! you got your unfill!
  6. Of course I had to wear weird clothes. My parents would never buy us any clothes either. When I was 15 through 17 I had one pair of pants. When I gained weight I split the seat and had to hand stick them with Patches from other worn out pants. We went to a private school, so I at least had a uniform so I was the same as the other kids. Well, dressed like them anyway, since there was no way I was like the other kids.... When we moved to a new town, no more private school, and I went to public school in the 8th grade. Mind you, I was tiny, so I was weird and tiny. Not a good combination. The neighbor lady took pitty on me, but she didn't have a clue either. She made me an outfit that was basically a gi (karati outfit) with a really, really wild pattern. I never got beaten up, but some coward kid decided to hate me to the point that he/she knocked me out with an apple. Apple to the back of the head has the same effect as a rock to the back of the head. When I was 17, I wore a size 12, but my mother made me wear her cast off purple polyester pant suit that was a size 16. It wasn't pretty.
  7. never had to do the letter thing, but there you go, took much less effort to hit us. We had to look up everything as well though. I don't make Spud look up anything, which is probably bad for him. My mom did teach me how to roll the perfect joint when I was 15 though. As you can tell, everything my mom did, I did the exact oppositie with Spudders. My dad was a very violent abusive drunk. When he wasn't drinking or hungover, he was just the best dad, but well, he only knew that fathers were supposed to be abusive drunks. When I was a kid the other neighborhood kids would come over and ask if Wally could come out to play. In the summer he would play jump rope with us, Water fights, tag... all sorts of street games. My dad wasn't crazy, just an abusive alcholoic. My mother was a lunatic though. I look at her now and wonder when she got sane-ish. yeah, I think Lisa and I've been hoping that we were not freaks of nature.
  8. There were the countless times I was dragged out of bed, out a dead sleep by my hair to clean the kitchen. Again. I got in trouble after my younger stabbed me. I was told I shouldn't have made him mad. And this was the second time he stabbed me mind you.
  9. how'd I miss this? Sorry to hear about your too-tight fill! My first fill was 2ccs as well, but she imediately had to take out some because I was stuck on Water. She pulled out more a few days later, so I have 1 cc in my band. Some days I think I'm fine, other days I wish I had more restriction, and then there was this weekend.... Hope you get relief soon!
  10. ah yes, the food police. Some people are concerned about your welfare. Some look at how little you are eating, and can't believe it. They are eating much more, and by golly, you're a big girl, so you are probably eating more too. Actually, I think a cup is about right, depending on the type of food. Of course, your mileage may vary
  11. Hi Flower, I'm not a moderator, but I suppose I qualify as someone. You probably won't have any restriction until you have a fill. The band is designed to only work with a fill. So, to answer you question, you will start to feel restriction only when you get a fill. Some people feel restriction depending on other outside envronmental factors, such as edema, altitude or possibly barometric pressure. Hope that helps. Be patient, difficult I know.
  12. (slight hijack) Sue, are you sure you don't have sleep apnea? if you are snoring this badly, you NEED to get it checked out. It's potentially life threatening.
  13. I'm sooo looking forward to this!
  14. Yup, clean plate club. "Starving chilren in China" I've switched to mostly using bread & butter plate for my plate. Not so much realistate. Some people use a saucer or desert plate
  15. I learned to not let myself get to that point. That point of desperate hunger. It hurts, and if I hurt myself, I'm not being kind to myself.
  16. Oh sure Betty! I knew you were going to rub it in! Oh sure, be that way! Oh how the mighty have fallen...
  17. I'm expecting more along the lines of "laughing and pointing."
  18. That said, I didn't have any weird punishments.
  19. Worst punishment? Hmmm, that's a hard one. One of the more tramatizing ones was after I spend all afternoon "gardening." I discovered a brick path in our over grown back yard, so I set to work clearing it all the ways tothe bottom of the hill. I was.. maybe 8 I think. When my mother got home, I proudly dragged her outside so I could show her all my hard work, especially the hole I cut through a seemingly gi-normous bush so you could get to the bottom of the stair case. I carefully put all the brush and debres into the compost pile. ... I did not get the reaction I was hoping for. She went into a screaming rage because I "ruined the landscaping." She wanted to know what I'd used to cut my way through the plants and I pointed to the paring knife. She proceded to cut my hair all the while screaming at me. I can't believe to this day that she didn't cut me. My sister later told me that our mother hadn't been out to the backyard in probably 7 years. The other memorable weird beating came the night before I turned 15. My crime? Her grandmother had to get married on her 15th birthday. Of course, the next night she beat me so hard she broke every wooden spoon in the house and started using a heavy gage metal spoon, big round strainer spoon with large holes. I bled pretty badly from that beating. When Spud was about 8 I got curious at how hard my mother would have to hit us to break wooden spoons. I took one of mine and proceded to beat a railroad tie with it, but as strong as I am, I couldn't break that wooden spoon.
  20. Yesterday, I reached a milestone I was hoping to never reach. I PB'D. All I can say is OH DEAR GAWD! Saturday, I had a really bad sliming incident. Do not, I repeat, do NOT let yourself get too hungry! I had a hair appointment, and they took close to 6 hours for a simply dye job. I was very, very careful when I finally got some lunch, but I see now I should have either had something in my purse or started the meal with milk and let that sit for a while. I didn't get anything stuck, but man, the slimes were terrible! This was my first experience with the slimes. dinner lastnight was a disaster. I ended up BPing for the first time since I was banded in March. I felt really yucky for the rest of the night too. I was hungry later that night, but a half cup of ice cream fixed me up. That and the cup of milk too... BTW, the ice cream was from the quart I bought 3 weeks ago...

Okay Betty, now you have to change your password. And no, you can't make it "harleys1" again. There are two different flavors of MSN, one is the MSN.com portal and one is an ISP. Confusing because two differnt products have the same name. The ISP is refered to internally as MSN IA for Internet Access.

You could get a tatoo of the band that goes aroun your ankle! yeah, that's it. on a more serious note... What do you feel best symbolizes your journey. Are you looking at something architypal or something personal? A road? A butterfly, a flower in bloom, a frog, or perhaps a reflection in a mirror? Perhaps a tribal pattern that encorporates something meaningful, or something abstract. A tatoo is a permanent thing, or at least, they are designed to be permanent. The important thing is to go with something meaningful for you.

I don't know about your MSN question. Some outfits provide the conectivity, but not access (sort of like chosing a long distance carrier), and some places provide both conectivity and access. And since I dont' have the particulars about the subscription to a Security company, I can't help you there either. Just call me the queen of no help today!
  24. Me-shell! Me-shell! C'mon everybody! Me-shell!
  25. I love Simple Plan (God must hate me) talk about teenage angst! These are some of my movin' songs: Mystermen Soundtrack, Tank Girl soundtrack, Puddle of Mudd "She F-ing hates me" la la la la, The Ramones, DEVO (oh sawthe Fantastic 4 this weekend, and Reed had an autographed framed pix of DEVO on his dresser! Woot!) Daft Punk (techologic)... I have a Dell Jukebox. I love it, 15 gig harddrive, and it plays a multitude of formats, not just the mac format. (I researched the different compression formats available and I like the sound of WMA best. My juke box is also great for recording lectures, especially accounting lectures since they put me right out... I've been thinking about getting an ipod shuffle since the bitty size if it appeals to me, but the 126 song limit is too small for me. I haven't downloaded any music, I just buy the CD.
