  1. I'm having the surgery at Orange Coast Memorial. Thanks for the luck;)
  2. Yay!!!! So happy for you! Keep us updated--- I'm living through you new sleevers-- I'll be in your shoes in about 3 weeks;)
  3. You look fantastic!!! Such great motivation for me!
  4. There is a meeting again the 3rd Sat of the month--16th I think. Message me if you need anymore info.
  5. Yes-dry mouth for sure! Forcing me to drink lots of water ( which I still can do easily since I'm pre-op)
  6. Great support group-- you might really enjoy it. I was pleasantly surprised by it all;)
  7. Gosh, I'm fussing here about doing a month of protein pre-op and look at you-- since Oct!!! Your doing awesome! I'm only 2 days in, headaches and snuck in a string cheese. I figure 800 cal and minimal carbs should be good.
  8. 10:15-11:45 650 S.Main St Corona Let me know if your going soon! It will nice to not be the only newbie;). Sara
  9. Hollirose--- thank you for posting your pics and details! I have been searching for an apple-shape body type girl like me and you are the first I've found!!! You look amazing!!! You are such a great motivation for me today!! I just started my pre-op protein diet--- a whole month because My BMI is 50;(. Thanks again!!!
  10. I have to go to one at the Corona library- it's on the first and third Sat of every month. I plan to go this weekend for my mandatory pre op meeting.
  11. Hi everyone! I'm Sara from Riverside. Surgery scheduled for Feb.27th in OC with Dr. Le Port. I'm excited to be connecting with locals;)
  12. So sorry your going through this---I can't imagine. Hoping you find resolution to this quickly!!!
  13. When I was getting the crazy run around and kept thinking it was the insurance--- come to find out it was the Medical Group since I have an *** that was really the problem. Have spoken with the insurance, because there is a appeal process? I was almost at the point of getting a lawyer too after my appeal was denied thinking it was all the insurance's fault but I called and spoke with a couple people at the medical group and threatened the lawyer and things suddenly changed. Btw- I have a high BMI, borderline HBP- nothing else.
  14. Did you have good weight loss from them? I just bought a case at SAMs club;)
  15. I was told to do a 3 week Bariatric Advantage pre-op diet because my BMI is 50. I understand this is totally necessary, and will bite the bullet and do what I gotta do---- however, do I HAVE to use bariatric advantage ( sooo gross- I had samples at surgeons office) or can I use another protein drink 3 times a day?? I'm putting a call in to NUT but was curious on everyone's thoughts;).
  16. Just got news that my upper GI came back abnormal;(---- the PA said probably not a big deal, but I now need to see a specialist. They said issue was,"Mild esophageal dysmotility and distal tertiary contractions". I'm trying to find out more and if anyone has had this issue... But not much success on my search. I still have my surgery date, so at least that wasn't cancelled yet;). Yikes--- I just feel bummed that I've come so far!! Also, this doesn't help motivate me to start pre-op diet!!!
  17. Congrats @DivaNurse and all other Feb Buddies--a we are getting soooo close!
  18. An EGD hasn't been mentioned or set up for me so far, nor has a sleep study. I don't suffer from apnea so that might be the reason for no sleep study. I see my surgeon on Tues-- so he might schedule more.
  19. You made me cry! Such a brave and beautiful journey--- thank you for sharing and inspiring!
  20. Just wondering if you guys have finished your pre-op stuff ( blood work, upper GI, EKG)? It's exciting because it means my surgery is really getting close---but scary because what if something is wrong and postpones the surgery. I have the upper GI this Thurs--not looking forward to that.
  21. This is EXACTLY how I'm feeling! I'm trying not to let doubt and fear override my year long fight to get this surgery... But I'm struggling. I know I won't back out of it, but I'm just getting to the really scared and overwhelmed part. Glad I'm not alone;)
  22. At the nutrition class I had to attend, they really emphasized that you could go back whenever you felt ready---the big HOWEVER was that you needed to still focus on your water intake and protein intake. Most jobs don't allow us to drink and eat constantly so that was the one concern my NUT had. Lots of people get dehydrated once they return to work because they get busy and can't drink like they are suppose to. Soooo, just drink up and stay hydrated everyone:)!
