I just read some other things saying that Dr. Garcia does surgeries at Mi Hospital, which is more like a strip mall, or a very small and old hospital, does someone who has had surgery know if this is true?

So I know I need to go to Mexico to have my surgery now, it is not working out with my insurance, I am sooooo overwhelmed by all the different Doctor choices! There are sooo many different choices, and I have heard some of them have contravertial reviews… I know for sure I do NOT want to be at a place where you stay in a recovery house, that would be crazy, I can not sleep with people around at all (I'm already worried about sleep in the hospital!) But I would like somewhere that you stay in the hospital a day or two then stay at a hotel. I will also be bringing my husband with me so knowing he would have a place to sleep would be wonderful! I also am looking for the lowest cost possible, I have seen a few that are about 8500 and that is just not an option for me right now. Thanks for any help!!!

How much is surgery with Dr. Kelly in tj? I ibtried looking online but didn't see anything about pricing... Just trying to find out before I inquire with them.

They said I should have never been eligible to begin with and it was a mistake of their part.

Long story short, my insurance approved my surgery..then 7 days before my surgery they denied it. This happened 2 weeks ago…trying to get over it but still determined to have this surgery. Does anyone who went to Mexico know if it is possible to use any type of financing or anything like that, I say mexico because I know it is about less than half of what it costs here in the US. If anyone has information on financing for here in the United States that would be great as well…about how much would you think someone would need to finance in the US?

Well I was recently informed, (7 days before my surgery) that I was not eligible for my insurance anymore, so I am still determined as ever to have this surgery, probably in May or June now though, because I am a teacher and will need to wait until summer break, instead of spring break. So I am thinking my only option now is going to Mexico. I would love any information on not only Mexico but from anyone who has gotten some type of loan or financing for surgery. What are the different options I have? I will not be able to save up more than $1000 before summer. Thanks for any advice!

For anyone who has had surgery in Mexico how much does everything cost on Average... That may be my only option coming.

I am literally bawling uncontrollably right now... my surgery was approved with the surgeons office and everything I got the notice this last week. Today I recieved an unrelated call about a heart monitor I need to wear for a while and they told me when they tried to run my insurance I was not approved, I called my insurance and they told me I was no long eligible. I don't normally share this information openly but obviously the insurance I was using to get the surgery was medicaid, and they said I make to much. My income has not changed and I have been on medicaid for several months now. All they could tell me is I made to much and should have never been on it in the first place. I can't get the surgery anymore and I can't stop bawling,

Has anyone written a letter/letters to loved ones, incase something were to happen during surgery?? I am a mother of three young children and started a letter to my husband and children just explaining exactly why I am having the surgery and how much I love them and everything like that. I know that this may seem like a terrible adea to some...I almost feel like I am going into it with bad expectations, but in all reality I don't feel like that at all, I honestly feel that God knows it isnt my time to go because he knows how much I need my family and how much they need me aswell, so he wouldn't take me from this at this point in time. ok, now I just sound crazy right? haha. Well I just couldn't stand the thought of something happening to me and not having something like this for them.

Let me know how this is when you get it???!! I ordered the variety pack because I wanted to see what I liked then order a lot of it, I am more of a "clear protein" kind of person, unless I am in the mood for "dessert"...then I may have to find a good chocolate protein!

Gosh my surgery is scheduled for March 28th, really on about 10 days away and I STILL haven't gotten the final approval from the insurance, they said they have a pre-approval but not an official approval, therefor I haven't had my pre-op appointment to even find out if I need to be doing a pre-op diet or anything! Sorry for my vent… I just can't believe I haven't heard from them… I called Friday the 8th to see is they had everything they needed to submit to the insurance and she said she did and she had submitted it the previous day and thats when she had already gotten the pre-approval then she said it would be about 3-5 more business days until the official approval came, this past friday was 5 more business days… I hate to call her because her voicemail says please wait for us to contact you about surgery approvals.

Getting ready for surgery on the 28th!! I am trying to make sure I have all the Vitamins I will need… here is what I plan to order off of amazon within the next couple days…. Centrum chewable Multivitamin with Iron Extra iron Vitmin D3 Biotin B12 Calcium chews Anything else??? Anything about these vitamins I should know before I order them??

Any use any type of compression garments… have they helped with skin? I am thinking I will probably try some to my flabby arms and my belly after I get surgery but I just was wondering if anyone has ever used them.

Is there a link to a complied list? I love this thread but there is just so much information…has anyone compiled a complete list? It would be so greatly appreciated.

I have heard that a lot of unflavored protiens are not really unflavored. Does anyone use unflavored isopure I met one lady who says she puts it in everything and can't taste it...therefore she is adding protien to almost anything she drinks and even into yogurts and other puree like foods. It is rather expensive and I didn't want to buy it unless I really think it is unflavored. I am thinking about adding it into crystal light and other clear liquids but not sure how well that was going to work???

Congrats!! Just saw your very successful 8 month post. I have very similar stats to you a will be sleeved the 28th. Do you have any tips or advice you would like share? Do you workout often? What is your diet like? Thank you for anything you can share.
