  1. What all are they having you do? My big day is tomorrow also and I don't have to do any bowel prep.
  2. The squash is actually real good. Google on how to cook the squash. It is a really good substitute.
  3. You may not be eating enough. Working out burns calories. Depending on the activity you may need to consume a few more calories.
  4. You can also use spaghetti squash.
  5. 1. Get back into kickboxing 2. Complete a full marathon (I have already done 7 halfs at this high weight) 3. Improve my half marathon time 4. Fit into a size 10 or 12 5. Fit into airplane seats comfortably 6. Be able to cross my legs 7. Be able to do a hand stand (silly I know. I have always wanted to do one)
  6. Not yet. I was nervous because my daughter has been sick for 9 1/2 days now (running a fever). We didn't know what it was. I was afraid that I'd have to postpone the surgery if she didn't get better. Luckily, the doctor received some of her tests back this morning and we figured out that she has a UTI. So she isn't contagious (which I was worried I'd get what she had or she wouldn't be better) and she can be treated with meds. Now come Monday I'll probably be nervous.
  7. I am going to Barker Bariatrics in Dallas. They are next to Forest Park Medical Center (on the North East side of Forest Lane and 75).
  8. I am on Feb 12!!!!!!!!! Are you nervous yet?
  9. I am currently preparing to be sleeved on 2/12. I am in the pre-op diet phase (which I am finding it very difficult because I am ALWAYS hungry!!!!!). I have my vitamins ordered and should be here tomorrow. I ordered some liquid Tylenol and some weight loss cook books that should be here on Thursday. The only thing I have left to do is buy the clear liquids for after the surgery. I will be on 1 week of clear liquids. That will be followed by 1 week of full liquids. Then 4 weeks of liquids/soft foods. I want to have enough to get me buy for a couple of weeks so I will do my shopping this weekend. I am also starting to think about what all I am going to pack. I don't want to overpack. I will probably wear my clothes to the hospital that I am going to wear home. I'll get some Gas X for the gas pains. I will pack my iPad and phone. Anything else that I will need? I plan on wearing the hospital gowns and some flip flops. Here are my before pictures that I took this evening: Front shot Side shot Back shot Face shot

  12. Hi all! My surgery is on 2/12. I am also in Texas!
  13. It definitely sounds interesting. Let us know how it actually turns out
  14. I started my preop diet yesterday. I have been hungry the whole time!!! I'm supposed to be doing liquids/soups/shakes/etc...
  15. Can I get an invite to the social group also?
  16. My initial weigh in with my Doc was on dec 7th and I weighed 252. When I weighed in on 1/31 I weighed 262. So I gained 10 lbs in that almost 2 months. The 262 is what my doc is going to use for future comparison. She didn't seem to have an issue with me gaining. I am scheduled to be sleeved on 2/12. I started my pre-op diet yesterday (a day early). I won't lie and say this weekend was not a good eating weekend. Kind of had a little bit of things I want either going to have again or wouldn't have for a long time. That whole "Last supper" thing totally happened.
  17. My surgeon has a different opinion on this. She is fine with diet sodas after 6 to 8 weeks. They do recommend letting it sit over ice a little bit. But they say that it won't stretch out the stomach. The carbonation will try to leave ( if there is too much) the easy way. Stretching of the stomach is not the easiest way. It will come back up either thru burps or spitting up. They do recommend giving it up because the artificial sweetener in it can cause sugar cravings.
  18. I am in Plano. I am being sleeved on Feb 12th by Dr Hodges (she works with Dr Barker). My surgery will be at Doctors hospital in Dallas because that is the only place. My insurance will cover.
  19. I am excited to say that I am going to be a February Sleever! Feb 12th to be exact. I will have a 1 week pre op liquid diet.
  20. I am so excited. Scheduled my surgery for Feb 12th! I am actually surprised that it is only in 2 weeks! I have a lot to do before then. But I am excited! My birthday is on Feb 11th so this is like a birthday present for me!
  21. From my limited experiences (I'm still pre-op), the only time I've seen it be denied is if one of the following happened: 1) Insurance doesn't cover this type of insurance, 2) BMI < 40 with no comorbities, 3) required diet (if one is required) hasn't been done (some plans require 6 months of a supervised diet), 4) some plans require so many years of being obese, 5) psych eval failed (this is purely up to the person doing the psych eval....though from what I've seen those who failed had to attend to a certain number of therapy sessions before the therapist said they would pass the psych eval). I'm sure there are others that I'm missing. BUT if you have done all of those you will probably get approved by insurance.
  22. I've used both the Wii games and the Kinect games. They are tough! Love them though!
  23. I know what you are going thru. I got all of that with my mother as well and I'm having the surgery here in the states (i'm scheduling the actual surgery date at my appointment this thursday). Sorry she isn't supportive. I'm lucky that my husband fully supports my decision and that is all that matters.
