Chicken Alfredo w/o the noodles
The squash is actually real good. Google on how to cook the squash. It is a really good substitute.

So fustrated
You may not be eating enough. Working out burns calories. Depending on the activity you may need to consume a few more calories.

Feb. 12!
Not yet. I was nervous because my daughter has been sick for 9 1/2 days now (running a fever). We didn't know what it was. I was afraid that I'd have to postpone the surgery if she didn't get better. Luckily, the doctor received some of her tests back this morning and we figured out that she has a UTI. So she isn't contagious (which I was worried I'd get what she had or she wouldn't be better) and she can be treated with meds. Now come Monday I'll probably be nervous.

Before Pictures & Pre-Op preparing
I am currently preparing to be sleeved on 2/12. I am in the pre-op diet phase (which I am finding it very difficult because I am ALWAYS hungry!!!!!). I have my vitamins ordered and should be here tomorrow. I ordered some liquid Tylenol and some weight loss cook books that should be here on Thursday. The only thing I have left to do is buy the clear liquids for after the surgery. I will be on 1 week of clear liquids. That will be followed by 1 week of full liquids. Then 4 weeks of liquids/soft foods. I want to have enough to get me buy for a couple of weeks so I will do my shopping this weekend. I am also starting to think about what all I am going to pack. I don't want to overpack. I will probably wear my clothes to the hospital that I am going to wear home. I'll get some Gas X for the gas pains. I will pack my iPad and phone. Anything else that I will need? I plan on wearing the hospital gowns and some flip flops. Here are my before pictures that I took this evening: Front shot Side shot Back shot Face shot

Gaining weight before surgery!
My initial weigh in with my Doc was on dec 7th and I weighed 252. When I weighed in on 1/31 I weighed 262. So I gained 10 lbs in that almost 2 months. The 262 is what my doc is going to use for future comparison. She didn't seem to have an issue with me gaining. I am scheduled to be sleeved on 2/12. I started my pre-op diet yesterday (a day early). I won't lie and say this weekend was not a good eating weekend. Kind of had a little bit of things I want either going to have again or wouldn't have for a long time. That whole "Last supper" thing totally happened.

Can I Ever Have A Diet Soda Again?
My surgeon has a different opinion on this. She is fine with diet sodas after 6 to 8 weeks. They do recommend letting it sit over ice a little bit. But they say that it won't stretch out the stomach. The carbonation will try to leave ( if there is too much) the easy way. Stretching of the stomach is not the easiest way. It will come back up either thru burps or spitting up. They do recommend giving it up because the artificial sweetener in it can cause sugar cravings.

Any sleevers in the Rockwall, Rowlett, Garland, Mesquite, Dallas Tx. etc. area?
I am in Plano. I am being sleeved on Feb 12th by Dr Hodges (she works with Dr Barker). My surgery will be at Doctors hospital in Dallas because that is the only place. My insurance will cover.

Why do people get denied by insurance ?
From my limited experiences (I'm still pre-op), the only time I've seen it be denied is if one of the following happened: 1) Insurance doesn't cover this type of insurance, 2) BMI < 40 with no comorbities, 3) required diet (if one is required) hasn't been done (some plans require 6 months of a supervised diet), 4) some plans require so many years of being obese, 5) psych eval failed (this is purely up to the person doing the psych eval....though from what I've seen those who failed had to attend to a certain number of therapy sessions before the therapist said they would pass the psych eval). I'm sure there are others that I'm missing. BUT if you have done all of those you will probably get approved by insurance.

Biggest Loser Videos
I've used both the Wii games and the Kinect games. They are tough! Love them though!

Just received a verbal beating...
I know what you are going thru. I got all of that with my mother as well and I'm having the surgery here in the states (i'm scheduling the actual surgery date at my appointment this thursday). Sorry she isn't supportive. I'm lucky that my husband fully supports my decision and that is all that matters.
