  5. My dad smoked since the age of nine, he stopped smoking in 2004, but it was too late. He had already developed lung cancer! I was so devastated. My mom, myself, my kids the whole family Harper on him all the time. Never helped. He was also overweight. So the could not do any surgery on him bc of his health. We found out about the cancer in September of 2009, we buried him in June 2010. Can u get your kids to talk to him. Ask him don't you want to see us grow up and have kids of our own and don't you want to be a wonderful grandpa. I think of all the things my dad missed out on because of what I felt was selfishness. He didn't understand that this was affecting us too.
  6. What kind of exercise do you all do. I know I'm going to walk bc that's my favorite. I want to make sure my butt don't go away or sag and I want to tone my arms.
  7. These are all so inspiring!!!!! I'm 6 days post op, I'm in Si much pain. I want to start walking but it's so painful. I can't get enough liquids down ans it's making my feet swell. I can't wait to have some of these victories. Especially being able to walk/run without everything hurting. Great job and congratulations to you all. Vant wait to be where some of you are!!!!!
  8. How soon did you start taking your vitAmins after surgery, I'm 6 days post op and the Dr told me Saturday before I left the hospital that I could wait a while to begin. They ate so huge and I don't think I'm supposed to take them at the same time.
  9. I'm still taking mine every three and a half hours bc if I don't it gets Si bad that the meds take forever to work. I'm almost out and I don't know if my surgeon will write a refill. I tried runny oatmeal last night and woke up with terrible gas. I know I'm not getting enough fluids. I'm supposed to drink 8 oz over the course of an hour. My feet ate swollen two times their size. Do any of you know what's causing that? Not enough fluids?
  10. I'm 3 days post op and I have never been in so much pain. And I can get my liquids down. My feet ate so swollen. I'm having to sleep on the couch. I know it's going to all be worth it but I hate feeling like this. I'm not hungry at all which I guess is a good thing. What more can I expect?? Anyone else have this much pain???

  16. Sugar free carnations instant breakfast is good. Jello, popsicles, pudding
  17. It also helps you make the transition after surgery, preparing your body. I'm on mine right now. My surgery is the 18th. I'm having gastric bypass. My doc told me to drink as much water as you can stand. Of course you have to get nutrients to. Two green smoothies a day. I use spinach, frozen blueberries, frozen banana, plain Greek yogurt, almond milk and peanut butter. Just search liquid diet items on google or smoothies on pinterest. Liquid diet also helps shrink your liver which lays a top the stomach. When is your surgery?
  18. So I'm getting ready for my pre op appt at Emory in Atlanta!!! I'm so excited. It's so close I can hardly stand it!! 6 more days till surgery!!!! I want to thank God for allowing me to have this great opportunity, without his grace, this would not be possible!!!
