I start my liquid Thursday. In having surgery on the .18th. I started the whole process in July Si I have been very fortunate not to run into any problems. What types if things are you drinking for your liquid diet? I'm a food addict I know it's gonna be tough in me to do this but I want to live a long life.

OK I'M ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF AWAY FROM CHATT. Have you had your surgery yet?

I'm set for surgery on Sept 18th. I'm so excited!!! I wanted to know what are some suggestions on what to drink for my pre liquid diet. I'm doing it for a week or maybe 8 days. Plus I want to know others experiences with after surgery diet, what works best. What to take for hair skin and nails.

I am 37 and I have the same things. I have had two back surgeries. I am having gastric bypass on the 18th. The Dr did say it would help a lot of my pain but don't rule out surgery. Best thing I ever did!!

I Sept 18th. I'm in Georgia, I'm so anxious!! Would love some last minute advise from those who have already gone through it. Good luck with yours.

Starting my 8 day pre surgery liquid diet on Monday. Any suggestions on certain things to buy??

I have many friends who have had the surgery and not one has had any hair loss. As long as you do not let yourself get malnourished you will be fine. I'm 14 days away from my surgery!! I'm so excited!!! Good luck to you!!!

If you are having all these bad experiences then you are not eating right and getting enough vitamins.... You need to go back to. Nutrition class.. malnourishment!!!!

Yep Ninja all the way!! My surgery us set for September 18th!! I got my call today. Have you had your EGD yet? I had mine two days ago. I'm excited! I wish I were having it tomorrow but my surgeon is in high demand and so I wait!! Good luck with your surgeon visit...good luck in the rest if your journey!!

I have another question. I've been overweight all my life and I know that my skin has been stretched to the max! how did you deal with all the extra skin after you lost all that weight (lostinthought)?

HI, I GO AUG 20TH FOR MY EDG, NUTRITION CLASS, WHERE I PAY MY FEE AND THEN THE NEXT DAY THEY WILL CALL ME FOR MY SURGERY DATE. NURSE SAID HOPEFULLY WITHIN THE NEXT WEEK AND A HALF. I HAVE SEEN A LOT OF PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT THIS LIQUID DIET BEFORE SURGERY. I WANT TO TRY TO DO THAT, BUT WHAT DO I NEED TO DRINK? PLEASE GIVE ME IDEAS, I CAN MAKE SMOOTHIES WITH MY NINJA, BUT WHAT KIND OF FRUITS AND FOODS SHOULD I USE? I AM HAVING MY SURGERY AT EMORY IN ATLANTA. SO EXCITED. HOW MUCH PAIN CAN I EXPECT TI BE IN?? Hi, I'm having my EDG and nutrition class on Aug, 20th. They will call me on the 21st with my surgery date. I'm very excited but scared at the same time!! I'm a food addict. Although since I have moved in with my mother she helps me control my eating better. I have started walking and I plan on starting my liquid diet maybe two weeks before surgery to get my body used to the shock...lol Have you lost any weight? One if the things I am worried about is skin, I've always Bern big so my skin has always been stretched. I don't want to look horrible with a lot of extra skin.

Tomorrow I will be scheduling my EDG and my gastric bypass. It took a long time for me to start this process but I'm happy to say it has only taken me two months to get this far. I'm really looking forward to the results. I know this is going to be a lot of hard work, but I'm so over being overweight and sick. I have such a poor quality of life and I've missed out on a lot because of it. I have two teenage boys who depend on me and I want to be there for them through their journey in life. I just hope to make some friends on here so that I can stay encouraged and motivated.
