I think so! Lol I had to call the psychologist and have them forward the report to my PA. So now they have everything they need so hopefully they will be submitting my paperwork to the insurance soon!

Lol! No it's in Augusta, GA. I did finally get a response today after copying the surgeon! She is waiting on my psych eval report and then she will be submitting the file to the insurance company!

Well I have already changed Patient Advocates once...and now this new one won't return my emails! I sent her one last Monday and with no response I resent it to her on Thursday. As of this afternoon, still no answer so I sent her another email and copied my surgeon. Hopefully he will make sure I get the information I need! What really stinks is, I really like my surgeon! It's some of his staff that I can't stand! And it's not like I have been aggravating and calling none stop! The last time before that was about 2 or 3 weeks ago when I called about getting my sleep study set up. Just getting totally frustrated with this process, but determined to fight to get this surgery to start a new healthier life!

Oh okay!! I am working with Trinity Bariatric Center in Augusta, GA but have had communication problems with the Patient Advocate.

I also have Anthem BCBS and I am so glad to have read this post! I now know what to look forward to when my office does submit the paperwork! Unfortunately I have emailed my PA twice this week to find out when she is submitting my paperwork but she has not responded yet! Ugh!

Well I am done with my sleep study! I could not get comfortable for anything!! Woke up several times and took me awhile to fall back asleep. The last time I fell asleep I was dreaming it was over and the tech was giving me my instructions to get the gunk out of my hair....until he actually DID wake me up...lol! But overall it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.... So this is over and the PA should have my cardiologist's letter, so hopefully I will have some co-morbs soon! I do have my fingers crossed!

Omg! You have to sleep on your back? I can't breathe laying on my back!

I did as someone suggested and sent my PA an email and copied the surgeon asking about a sleep study and possibly a heart problem. I received an email this afternoon from my PA stating I would be getting a call from the hospital for a sleep study and for me to have my cardiologist send them a letter describing my carotid Stenosis issue. She stated that they maybe my two co-morbs that I need! Within the hour, I got my sleep study set up for this Saturday at 9:00pm. I am so nervous because I stay up all night cause I can't sleep, so I am afraid I will be up all night just staring at the walls! What were your sleep study's like? Were you able to sleep?

No i didnt get offended. We only have one in our area out of 5 hospital.

I appreciate your response but my surgeon changed my PA on Jan 7. I spoke to her once on Jan 9 for about 1 min just to see if she would be in the office on Jan 16 and she said no. I tried to call her on that Thursday and left a message with no call back. So I ended up calling again on Jan 17 left another message and followed up with email. And I finally got a response around 3pm today. Also I only email my surgeon and my new PA. I can assure you I am not one if the aggravating patients. I also work in an office that deals with the public and mainly criminals so I can spot an aggravating person a mile away! I don't like to deal with them do I know not to be one. I wish I could switch offices but these surgeons are the only ones that work at the only Center of Excellence hospital. I guess my only option is to wait and see what happens...

Unfortunately I have to go to a Center of Excellence hospital and this is the only office that works at that hospital. If I get approved, I hope things improve! But they don't think I am gonna be approved, so....I don't know

You know what's crazy, when I tried this back in 2009, I loved the office staff! But they have grown in to a larger office and all new staff that I don't feel it there! Sad

I have had so many issues with my surgeon's office staff, that this journey is not an excited one. I am almost to the point of just quitting the process. Some of the issues have been that the Patient Advocate tried to stop my process without talking to my surgeon, and of course pissed me and my surgeon. So I got a new PA and haven't been able to talk to her either! She won't return my calls, when I email her it takes forever to get a response if I even get a response! I have done all the educational meetings, psych evaluation, Nutritional class but they haven't scheduled me for EGD. And I don't think they will. Now I don't know what to do! Has anyone else had this problem? I am at a loss!
