  1. Stacy 73.....38lbs TulipStar.....22lbs Mdicurn .....20lbs time4me.....27.8 lbs
  2. 22 is great! part of mine was preop diet-I get my fill tomorrow too!! yay!!
  3. Now that we are all getting used to the band and all-should we keep our own list of weight lost? Just for sept bandsters? I know there is one in the main forum but thought it would be inspiring to have one of our own.. we can just add our name and total weight lost.. I will start...then lets say around the 1st of each month we can update the list by copying the last post-.. add your updated total and keep it going...please make sure it is the last one or else someone's results may not be accurate... Stacy 73.....38lbs
  4. wow-when i look at the % it is so much more appealing- I am at 30%-only been banded 6 weeks-they say to expect 60-70% the first year-so that is not too bad either- I have been at a stalemate in weight loss the last couple of weeks-but i am down 3 sizes-so really I think looking at all three are equally important-if one is not showing you the results-I am sure one of the others will-also taking measurements helps as well.
  5. My question is.. my first fill is in 2 days.. what is the difference between now, where I am eating way less than I used to about 900 cal a day-without restriction and when restriction is reached? I feel like I should be losing at least 1-2 lbs a week and I am not losing anything right now- everyone says the loss will start after the fill- I am just trying to visualize the why?? besides the obvious you eat less.. any input??
  6. I have the 10 cm/4cc ap band- from what I hear it has a lower rate of erosion and can for some produce a quicker weight loss result- I am still a newbie-so I cannot testify to those facts but it is just what I have heard
  7. guiness girl- I heard it could take anywhere from 3-5 fills for restriction-while that is not what we want to hear.. you will get there... keep up what you are doing- my fill is on thurs- I will let everyone know if I feel any different- I am just trying to get in the mindset not to expect restriction- if I do-awesome-if I don't then- maybe next time-by the way-what size band do you have and how much of a fill did you get??
  8. good luck to you-hopefully 3 is your lucky number!! I get my first fill on thursday-not exactly in the same boat-but good luck just the same!
  9. yay.. I am still at 10 min on the elliptical-but I also mix in the treadmill and bike for variety-i get bored really easy-good job-keep it up
  10. I would just go to your surgeon appt-psych eval was easy-they do a quick 20 min one on one-question and answer-to make sure you are not too crazy.LOL.. no it is just a personal interview-then you have to take a questionnaire- mine was like 500 questions-no joke-but the psych eval was easy. with the insurance just make sure you have the weight history and letter from pcp so your surgeon can send it all over at once-then follow up two weeks after it is submitted if you have not heard anything by then.
  11. depends on your dr- i couldn't have any until week 3.
  12. I have UHC Choice- just call once the paperwork is sent to make sure they have it- I had a problem because they kept saying they didn't have my paperwork-after 4 mo-they finally got it and approved it in 5 days-once they have it-it is fast-it was just getting it to them that we had problems with. Good Luck-also when you call ask for care coordination
  13. I took the gas x a couple times a day in the first week- now I take it once a day in the morning with my other meds just to keep my stomach calm-seems to be working so far
  14. finally.. this morning-down 2 more lbs!! yay!! its been weeks of waiting.now for my fill this week hopefully some restriction and more weight loss to come.
  15. I agree with crazyace- as far as I know-no abs for awhile-just tell them whatever you want -but make sure you tell them something- we don't want you to hurt yourself!
  16. welcome, sara... you are taking the first step. a baby is a great motivation for starting this journey-
  17. Thanks, Wheetsin.. I will def check it out-I go to Sams all the time.
  18. I know-seriously.. I thought the same thing when he told me-I have a serious vitamin deficiency that I never knew about before-I live in Seattle-lots of gray skies-I went today for 4 min. I am very careful about not burning-apparently the beds with mostly uva is not too damaging-yes, I am sure any exposure carries some risk-I probably will never exceed 7 min at one time-going mainly for the therapy-but a nice base would not hurt..By the way I normally use 50 spf sunscreen during the summer.
  19. Don't be so hard on yourself- we are all in the same boat- I cannot stand looking at pics of myself-not yet anyway.. maybe someday
  20. we are all in the same boat-I am taking a deep breath now-the loss will come-eventually-
  21. Kimmie you are doing awesome... keep it up...
  22. yayy!! awesome job- i am starting to see mine too after only 36 lbs-it is AMAZING the differences we see in just a short time- my nsv was last week- I started my pre-op diet a couple of months ago in a tight size 24- I last week fit into an 18!! I am pretty much a 20- but finding a pair that were 18 was great!! I was stoked... next week is my first fill.. hoping that the loss will start again- haven't really lost anything in the past 3 weeks-but I will take my NSV!!
  23. So my Dr recommeded I go tanning to help my vitamin D deficiency- any one else go tanning? is there any recommendation for how long to avoid tanning on your stomach and scars? I heard that it can turn the scars a dark color if you tan too soon after surgery. Thanks:)
  24. always curious.. how did it go- well hopefully the anxiousness was not too unbearable- I was very nervous the weeks before- the day before I was nervous-but just tried to keep busy-well now you have completed the first hurdle... the surgery- the recovery isn't too bad-yes I admit I did have pain for about a week but it slowly subsides over time-some people have very little discomfort-what i can tell you was I did not need any pain meds at all- I have not even touched the tylenol at all- gas-x yes, tylenol no. So far my marriage has not been impacted in any way-my husband met and married me at my weight of 277 so it can only get better- he is trying to take off some weight too so that is helpful to me that we both are working on it. I a also afraid of the potential disappointment but what I have realized- it is now up to me-to do this - i have to put the work in-I have done the work before but just could not keep off the weight- the band will be so much help once in maintenance. So good luck-let us know how it went..
  25. all I have to say is WTF???? perhaps it has something to do with the writing..advertising..public interestnot the actresses-as far as vin diesel as terminator.. spare me..
