1. I apologize in advance if this sounds annoying, but I just feel like I have to vent.. It was my bday yesterday, and I don't have anyone to make me feel special on it(husband, bf, kids) my own family basically ignored me, I got a few bday texts from them, but to them showing that they care would be eating out and over eating with cake... I have gone out once since surgery with them, my surgery was on 12/10 btw, I ordered from a kid's menu and they saw how incredibly fast I got full, maybe they think I'd be a waste of their money to go out to eat with me, and I can no longer have alcohol, that was another thing.. It's been a very depressing bday bc I don't feel loved or wanted by them, no one else offered to see me or take me out somewhere, I cried a lot. They don't realize that there's other things that I like to do that would be fun( movies, bowling) food doesn't always mean a good time.
2. I'm also just about 3 weeks out and one of my incisions still hurt more than any, the best way to describe it is it feels like razor blades trying to come out of that one spot! I told my doctor and he said its normal to still feel pain and just take Tylenol.
3. My last meals before my preop diet was thanksgiving weekend, so I ate a lot of good junk food before I had to eat healthy, not one day but the whole 4 day weekend LOL... Desserts, pizza, mashed potatoes, stuffing and Chinese food! I was soo bad! But glad I got it out of my system lol
4. Yeah I agree, call your doctor just to be safe and make sure its not a leak?
5. I had my surgery on 12/10 and about 4 maybe 5 days ago my incisions were very itchy, but like a tattoo I did not scratch them at all! Lol.. I emailed this picture to my doctor and he told me to apply hydrocortisone cream on them and if it didn't get better then to go in to see him... I've been using the cream for 3 days now. Did anyone else have this problem? They're closed, not really painful anymore and there's no discharge from any of them.
6. I've been really constipated, I had surgery on 12/10 and Ive only gone once but it was a very small amount. My doctor told me to take stool softeners but it hasn't worked. I've seen others on here talk about milk of magnesia, so I bought some today thinking finally I'll have some relief! But omg!! It's disgusting! I couldn't get the taste out of my mouth! I got the Walgreens brand, do they all taste the same? Is there a different brand that might be better? Like I said I'm super constipated and really uncomfortable sorry if this sounds like a stupid question! Thanks guys :-)
7. It def does get better! I remember thinking holy crap this is a horrible feeling! With the pain and nausea and gas! Make sure they keep giving u ur pain and nausea meds and don't be afraid to ask for them either lol
8. Have u tried tea? Sometimes warm temps help at least with me it did.
9. I'm so eager I can't wait to weigh myself every morning lol :-)
10. You'll be fine! Just think about being at home and healing. That's kinda what got me through it, everything ur gna go through will all be worth it in the end! And don't be afraid to ask for ur pain meds and nausea meds after lol
11. I'm 7 days post op and my doctor gave me 3 weeks off, and my job is very physically demanding, I think I should be okay by then too bc I feel great right now.
12. My nausea went away on the 2nd day, but I def know what u mean about the pain in my chest and stomach. I seem to get it when I drink my water, I want to say that its air? But I could be wrong too.. if anyone else knows about this I would appreciate to hear some more input about it. My surgery was also done the the 10th.
13. I had my surgery on Monday, I was at 230. And I remember when the nurse took my covers off of me to check my incisions she didn't realize I had a pillow on my stomach under the covers LOL she was like omg there's not much of u to begin with! U looked a lot bigger with the pillow.. I left on Wednesday afternoon and I was already down 5lbs and today I'm down another pound :-)
14. Omg that IS a ton of fluids! But you'll lose it so fast before u know it! They pumped me full of fluids too but I peed a lot while I was there.
15. Yay! I am down 5.4 lbs since Monday! I can't believe how fast we r all gna start losing weight :-D
16. How much weight have u guys lost since Monday if u don't mind me asking? :-)
17. Do u also have the problem when u take a sip of water or anything fluids it feel like a lot of pressure for my stomach? Even if I take it in slowly with the 1oz cup it still hurts.
18. I had my surgery on Monday. I'm not gna lie, I woke up with a lot of pain! I stayed at the hospital for an extra day bc my pain was not in control. Today I am home I finally took a shower but I'm still very sore. The doctor gave me a measuring cup and told me to drink that much fluids every 15 mins. Is there anything else I should be doing? It's raining outside today, so can't really go outside so I've been moving around the house instead.
