  1. Bread!! It is a bad idea!! It swells in your sleeve.. you must CHEW alot befote swallowing!! No bites bigger than your thumbnail. I know all have different milestones for their diets.. but, I agree. It sounds like your sleeve is still swollen due to healing process. If your 3 weeks post I would stick to pureef or full liquid for another week or 2. I did not eat soft food until 5 weeks post op! I still at 7 weeks have issues when I eat, but chew alot now!! Good luck, if you do not feel better call your MD it can't hurt.. (drink plenty of water, 30 minutes after your meals)
  2. Awesome!! Now, maybe your body will stop holding on start letting go.. I am happy for you ... spring has sprung!!
  3. The vitamins I use are"Optisource" chewable (post bariatric surgery formula) take 4 times a day. One pill!! Has everything you need!! Sold at CVS or online.. Highly recommend for post-op!! Also "Premier" brand protein shakes.(chocolate). 30gm of protein and 2gm of carbs!! Best out there for the amt of protein and carbs.. Sold at both Sam's and Costco.
  4. You will love it! First night post-op sucks, but heck it still was way EASIER than childbirth!! Just use your pain pump! Oh.. and get some gasX strips or chewable. Other than that it's CAKE!
  5. Central Indiana is not that far... Lol!! Indy area?? Oh well, you do not have to say!! Anyways... good luck with your April surgery, the worse part is the two preop diet!! The liquid diet afterwards is not so bad since your sense of hunger is incredibly changed!! It is amazing how full you feel! For example... I actually tried a MCD cheeseburger the other day and could only eat half and 2 french fries!! I felt so guilty I walked the tread mill for an hour!! But, anyways... take your time to heal. Energy slowly returns. I had my sleeve Jan 8 this year!! Lost 46lbs already with little effort! Chat when ever you need to!
  6. Hey... I told only a few people. Just tell them you are having surgery and thats it! Just worry about yourself and keep on the right track. I am 6 weeks out and feel great. It takes awhile to eat such a small amt of food so, good luck on your journey!! Its the best decision you will ever make!
  7. From NW IN too.. Sleeved on Jan 8th this year!! Dr. Dang was my Doctor.. Everything went smooth. Good luck!! You will not regret it all...
  8. Noticed I can eat most anything just not alot. Crazy how little I need to feel full!! I am happy I can still eat whatever!! Just very careful. I am having a hard time to remember to eat when I am busy... Love the sleeve. Top reason I chose this over the bi-pass.
  9. I have Blue Cross Blue Sheild Insurance and it covered it. I had to do 6months of pre things but, approved!! Good luck.. you will be so happy! I went to my 1st Dr. May 30 last year and got approved in December and just had my surgery Jan. 8,2013! I am very pleased so far! I lost 40lbs since Jan 8th ..
  10. Will power!! After you have the surgery you never feel hungry after a total of 500-800 calorie intake for the day. You can not even finish a child's portion of a meal. So, there will never be a "cheat day". At least, that is my experience. Let me put it this way, a 5oz yougart takes 30 minutes to finish and I am STUFFED!
  11. I do not know if this will help, but my Dietician said that your body goes into a "hang on" mode if you are in starvation mode!!. Increase your protein to 60-80 gm a day.. 64oz of water daily!! 6small meals a day!! Add some GOOD carbs to help boost!! And exercise at least 30 minutes a day. Question?? Have you had blood work lately?? Thyroid?? Kidney?? Good Luck!! It will work out!!
  12. Wow!! How did you do it??? Take care of yourself. This was major surgery, nothing minor about it...
  13. Too my relief, finally at 1:30am I got things moving!! Omg, I hope to never, ever, ever go through that again. I took MOM again today when I got home from work, knowing there is prob more!! After doing MOM for a week--- I am going to start taking miralax daily. Thanks for all your support and knowing I am not alone!!
  14. Will do.. Thanks.
