  1. Hi All, I am getting sleeved on 12/17/2012 and I've been watching all the vsg journals on youtube and someone mentioned the Gas X strips helping wtih all of the gas after surgery. I bought some but I'm wondering if they will let me have it. It sounds like they don't really want you to drink or eat anything right after surgery, but I'm kind of nervous about this gas pain I've been hearing about. Just not knowing what to expect. Thanks in advance for your input:-)
  2. Hi, I'm on the 17th as well. I'm drinking he Optifast and Protein Premiere. I think I may go to walmart though and check out there options. I'm down 10 pounds so far and I started my pre-op diet on 12/5. Best of luck to everyone:-)
  3. I had the same issue. I am changing the insurance providers in Jan. I had my initial appointment with the surgeon 11/19 and explained my situation and he said I should be able to get everything done to get it completed before the end of the year. I had to make numerous call backs to make sure everything was moving along, but I now have a date for 12/17 and I will just have to worry about follow up appointment coverae and prescriptions, but I should be fine:-)I wish you luck! Talk to you doctor though and let him know your situation. You'd be suprised how much they will try and help you.
  4. I was initially told I would need to do a 10 day liquid diet and then when I went to my pre-op appointment the doctor wanted me to start the liquid diet right away which was 3 days earlier. Today is day 7 for me. I am having Optifast meal replacements for breakfast and lunch with a sensible dinner which I've chosen to have salad with a little protein daily.
  5. My surgery is on the same day:-) I'm so excited and nervous! best of luck to you and I wish you a speedy recovery:-)

  8. I'm on day 2 and cooking for the family. You are right everything smells delicious. I am able to have a salad for dinner so I just make sure to wait until they starting what I've cooked for me to eat my salad. It's not the same, but at least its something:-) Good Luck!
