  1. I got my period the day after surgery then I skipped a month and got it almost 4 weeks late.
  2. Awesome! I feel the same way. I no longer feel like I'm going to have a heart attack chasing my little ones.
  3. Cheaper out of pocket expense.
  4. I tried Zumba for Wii. I have absolutely no rhythm, none, zero, zip, nada...lol. I looked like an weirdo failing around in my living room. I figured I was still getting in a workout even if I wasn't doing the exact moves on the screen..lol. I'd never be able to take a class.
  5. I LOVE Dorothy! i told her when I started my journey in July last year that if I couldn't get the surgery before the end of the year (my out of pocket max was met, so it was free) that I wouldn't be able to do it. She pulled tooth and nail and got me in late December. No I haven't had a chance to go to any of the groups yet.
  6. I was sleeved 12/20/12 by Dr. Jones at Park Nicollet. He and the staff there were wonderful.
  7. I swear I drank like 6 shakes the first day..lol.I had a headache the first 2 days. It will be rough for about the first 3 days but should level off on the 4th day. Good luck!
  8. I was over weight with all of my pregnancies, and for that reason I was considered high risk. I had to go through a lot of extra testing and had to watch my weight extremely close. There's also a high risk of gestational diabetes. I had my 4th baby in March '12 and had surgery in Dec '12. My doctor required me to be 6 months postpartum before they would do the surgery. My advice would be to have the surgery first, lose the weight and then get pregnant. I think it's the healthier option.
  9. Try and see if your doctor would be willing to do a peer to peer. I had Cinga and got denied as well, then my doctor had a peer to peer with a medical director or someone at Cinga and they had it approved.
  10. I get my samples here http://www.nashuanutrition.com/store/protein-powders/protein-powder-samples-1-serving.html?_vsrefdom=google1&gclid=CJv98JKQw7QCFQioPAodPkIATw I also like Designer whey Plain & Simple for an unflavored Protein. I got mine at Vitamin shoppe
  11. I haven't added it to plain water to see if there's actually no taste. There's 2g of sugar so I'm sure there's some taste but it's not enough to notice if you put it in food.
  12. I bought my Designer Whey Unflavored Protein Powder at Vitamin Shoppe. They have a small can or a large tub. http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/browse/sku_detail.jsp?id=XN-1005#.UPF-aSfm5Hc
  13. I put Designer Whey Unflavored Protein powder in everything. Yogurt, soup, shakes, mashed potatoes.
  14. I have Cinga. I had to do 3 months of dietitian apoinments. 2 co-morbidities or a BMI over 40. I met all their requirements and was denined stating that surgery was not medically nessasary. My doctor then had to do a peer to peer with the Cinga medical director to get it approved. It only took 5 days total from submitting paper work to the approval.
  15. I sleep with a large body pillow tucked up under my belly and then between my knees. The pillow supports my stomach and gives me a little relief. I've always been a side sleeper.
  16. I used a heating pad on my back for a little bit last night and that seemed to work wonders. Hang in there!
  17. I'm home too. No real issues as long as I keep up with my pain meds. All I want to do is sleep though, so I'm forcing myself to stay awake long enough to sip.
  18. Today is my 7th day on the liquid diet. I'm down 12lbs. I found the Swanson's broth (Chicken,Beef, Vegetable) to be really gross. I've been making Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup and straining the noodles. The first few days I was drinking 4-5 shakes a day and now I'm down to 2-3. I am not really a fan of SF water flavorings but I found Crystal Lite Pink Lemonade to be good.
  19. Those on the liquid pre-op diet, can you guys have SF Fudgesicles?
  20. I'm scheduled for the 20th too! I've started the pre-op diet today even though the doctor said it was ok to only do a 10 day pre-op diet. I'll stay 2 nights in the hospital and home on the 3rd.
