  9. drink your fluids, get your protein in, walk walk walk. Don't try to eat, stick to your Drs. plan religiously. walk, move, stay hydrated (probably the most important tip). Realize it might be a bit uncomfortable for a few days, take the pain meds even if they taste like ass. Stay hydrated.
  10. Wish I could help, but I gave up soda. Just didn't seem worth all the trouble. If you find out, or try it, post here. There's a lot people that would love to know the answer.
  11. From the United State State Dept. Website Since March 1, 2010, all U.S. citizens – including children – have been required to present a valid passport or passport card for travel into Mexico. While documents are not routinely checked along the land border, Mexican authorities at immigration checkpoints approximately 20 to 30 kilometers from the border with the U.S. will often conduct vehicle and document inspections and will require valid travel documents and an entry permit or Forma Migratoria Multiple (FMM). All U.S. citizens entering by land and traveling farther than 20 kilometers into Mexico should stop at an immigration checkpoint to obtain an FMM, even if not explicitly directed to do so by Mexican officials. Beyond the 20-30 kilometer border zone, all non-Mexican citizens must have valid immigration documents (FMM, FM2, FM3 or FME) regardless of the original place of entry. Failure to present an FMM when checking in for an international flight departing Mexico can result in delays or missed flights as airlines may insist that a valid FMM be obtained from Mexican immigration authorities (Instituto Nacional de Migración, INM) before issuing a boarding pass.
  12. I think that we all have to learn that eating is not a hobby, it's not a sport and it isn't a way to make us happy. It is something that we all probably struggle with to a degree. There's nothing about the surgery that will prevent you from eating what you want (mostly), there's nothing that will prevent you from having a good time. You'll just eat smaller amounts of it. That's really a good thing if you look at it from the standpoint that you will be healthier and more lively. It's hard, like Laura said, there are times, when a good binge might be very soothing, but in the overall scheme there are WAY better ways to spend time. Hang in
  13. I put hot sauce on just about everything. Never have a problem. I would suggest that you go slow and try a little at a time. But tobasco and spicy BBQ sauces are my bestest buddies!
  14. i stayed away from the free weights and doing squats or lunges for about 6 weeks. I did do curls, pull downs and flys on the machines. Didn't seem to be a problem. Now I am full on back.
  15. Everybody has different tastes, I'm really sorry that most proteins aren't pleasant to you. I find isopure to be pretty vile myself and really hate the proteins that are fruit flavored. I try to stay away from the powders as well. Glad you found something palatable.
  16. Nice job...looks good, stay with it.
  17. I'm 54, and sleeved this past November, just wish I had done it about 10 years or so ago.
  18. My Dr. asked me how much I wanted to lose and what my goal weight should be. We went from there. I took a weight that was in the middle of the BMI range for me. It isn't a weight that I have been at in a very long time and was exactly 100 lbs from where I started from.
  19. IMO, It shouldn't but since you've had ALP it would be something to talk to the Dr. about. Check to see if the protein has a lot of phosphorus which is a trigger. But unless you are hitting a large number of shakes a day, 30 gms, I wouldn't think would trigger it. Again, this is just based on what I know about ALP (not that much). Best have the Dr. take a look at it.
