Congrats LMarie! So glad to hear a positive story! I am using Dr Hargroder in Baton Rouge. I think he is in with Dr Bellanger? planning on having it done at Crystal pointe. Did he have you do a pre-op? Are you nauseous? any anesthesia issues? Thanks so much!

I am in Daphne AL too!! VERY scared and waiting here. Should be able to have surgery in Oct or Nov. I am on 2nd month of 7 months of weight loss trials. gained 4 lbs so far Its so nice to have this forum for support! My family is no support at all they are against it. I am still looking for a dr that I feel comfortable with. Ive seen 3 so far and go see Dr Richards at USA in July. I also have an appt with dr lord in p'cola in July. I would greatly appreciate any input about your experiences? did you have nausea? pain? vomiting? etc. Did the staff at hospital treat you well? Nice to meet you all. Am excited about this journey and hoping I have enough courage to follow thru!!!!!!! Vicki

I am in Daphne AL. I have met dr avara in ocean springs. I have an appt with dr lord in p'cola in july and Ive met dr weinstein. maybe I am just picky, but I still have not met THE doctor that I am excited about. I have severe nausea issues and want to find a dr that will work with me on that. I also have ALLOT of fear I am dealing with. MOBD, can you share your experience at USA?? Thanks in advance!!!!!!

I have yet to decide on a surgeon. Would any of you please share your experiences? Im considering : Dr Avara Dr Weinstien Dr Richards or Pensacola Im soooo confused. Also, does anyone know if you can get approved with various dr visits over 6 months while on Weight watchers? Thank you all SO much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am very anxious to hear your story. Thanks you SOO much for the info. I was starting to feel very discouraged. They told me today I actually must see my primary for 7 mos in a row before my ins will pay and then it will cost me $2700. out of pocket. My primary is a great dr , but everytime I go to her office I seem to catch whatever the latest bad virus going around. Its possible that the amounts could be different at USA? I will check into it. You are the first person to mention USA. Everyone else I know has been to Mobile Infirmary. I read a little about Dr Richards and he appears to be a very skilled dr PLEASE keep me posted and let me know how you do after surgery .

Thanks so much! That sounds wonderful. It sounds like you are very comfortable with your dr choice. I spoke with the finance lady at the ocean springs surgical weight loss today and was NOT impressed with her. She was very short with me and very rude. When I asked if it would be possible to have an appt with each dr there (there are only 2) before I made my decision, she was VERY rude and asked me if I was serious. Then when I asked how many sleeves they had performed, she put me on hold and told me she didnt know and that I should have asked that at the seminar If she is representative of that office I def will not go there. Where will they perform your surgery? May I ask how much you were able to lose before surgery?

I met with Weinstien, he seems like a fine dr, but I dont feel I really connected with him. May I ask what made you choose dr richards?

I have decided to have it done locally , either in Mobile or Pensacola. My friend used dr weinstein and is happy. My insurance will pay 90% If I go to dr supervised weight loss for 6 mos. How about you?? How are you doing on your journey.

Thats a great price. I got a out of pocket quote from Dr Avaras office today for all inclusive at $14,000 9999.00 is a good deal. Ive not heard of Dr Richards but I am new to the search. You look really thin in your picture. Please keep me posted. Wish u the best
