  4. My mother in law and I are having the surgery on the same day too but on February 18th. Good luck to you and your sister:)
  5. my husband is month 2 of his 6 months but his GERD is so very bad that he is getting ulcers from the acid. Since the doctor has to fix his hiatal hernia anyways, does anyone think the insurance company would just do it now instead of waiting 4 additional months? Thanks in advance for any advice
  6. Thank you and same to you . Me an my mother in law are going in together.
  7. I'm February 18th. So excited:).
  8. My husband is in the process also. I will be sleeved February 18th but he still has 4 months of the 6 month diet. I wanted us to do the journey together so we would understand what we were both going through.
  9. Well said! I have told my co-workers also because I am very excited. Most were excited for me but others are always trying to talk me out of it or get me to try their "latest diet". I keep telling them all those diets are temporary fixes. I do not understand why they can't just be happy for me.
  10. Just super duper excited to tell .... I will be sleeved on February 18th!! I cannot wait My mother in law and I are both having it done on the same day! sooo, thats all, just super excited!!
  11. I haven't done a sleep study done yet but my hubby says I snore lol. I don't have arthritis but a loooong history of yo yo dieting. Tried weight watchers a dozen times only to gain it back. And many members of my family have developed diabetes and high blood pressure with early death. I meet with the surgeon on Monday and I'm just going to ask up front if it can be approved or if I'm wasting my time...
  12. I am above the bridge and have to do the 6 months because of my insurance. It's still not a guarantee even after the 6 month supervised diet:( I carry bcbs Michigan. My bmi is 35 and my husbands is 43. We are hoping to be sleeved early spring:)
  13. I too have a bmi of around 34. Self pay is not a real option for me at this time so I am still hoping and praying my insurance company will see that this surgery will save them money in the long run. I do not have the high blood pressure or diabetes YET but everyone in my family does and I am built exactly like them. I am 5'1 and 184 pounds. Has anyone had luck or could give me advice for helping to get my insurance to pay? Thank you in advance:)
  14. 5'1 here. Not sleeved yet but hopefully soon. My pants size are 18 and never fit right:(. Hoping my BMI is high enough for them to approve me for the sleeve. I am 185 lbs but because I'm so short I look a lot heavier and feel it.
  15. I am just starting the process with bmi of 35. Insurance requires 6 months. I am worried I will be denied because of my lower bmi. Even though I have been heavy my whole adult life and I have family history of high blood pressure and diabetes I do not have them YET. anyone have any suggestions to ensure that I won't get denied?
