Bcbs Of Michigan

I am just starting the process with bmi of 35. Insurance requires 6 months. I am worried I will be denied because of my lower bmi. Even though I have been heavy my whole adult life and I have family history of high blood pressure and diabetes I do not have them YET. anyone have any suggestions to ensure that I won't get denied?

Hi. Have you ever had sleep study done? If you have sleep apnea, that is another co-morbidity. Any arthritis? I am also in Michigan but I have Medicare. I have been waiting for over a year for Medicare to approve the Sleeve. Hopefully, this will happen for you, I, and all the others waiting for an approval from their insurance companies and soon, this will all be behind us.

I haven't done a sleep study done yet but my hubby says I snore lol. I don't have arthritis but a loooong history of yo yo dieting. Tried weight watchers a dozen times only to gain it back. And many members of my family have developed diabetes and high blood pressure with early death. I meet with the surgeon on Monday and I'm just going to ask up front if it can be approved or if I'm wasting my time...
