  1. None from. Perth turn on channel nine news now, there will be a special bulletin on gastric surgery shortly
  2. K so I came home from hospital yesterday with a drain attached to me side, no pipe just like a drain band aid. I have now drained it 3 times and it's still coming out. Anyone else this? Should I be concerned?
  3. Well so far so good, sitting in bed at the hospital on day 4. So far no pain, no nausea just tender across stomach(really bloated and bruised) hurts to breathe In deep. They have just taken the drain out and unfortunately last night they had to put the 2nd catheter. Doc has just removed it and advised that I can go just as soon as I pee, mmm not as easy as it sounds
  4. That's awesome you should be really really proud, such an achievement. Yep I'm still In hospital, Kevin decided to keep me at leader another night , my drain is still a bit leaky. Otherwise good though, addicted to sorbet and water lol
  5. Feeling better now, passed the swallow test so have my 1st drink and sipping very vey slowly ????
  6. Awesome thanks, and I mean jello ????
  7. I just about to have my swallow test then hopefully clear fluids , does jelly count as clear fluids?
  8. I all, just about to go for swallow test then hopefully on clear fluids. Does s/f f/f jello count as clear fluid?
  9. The nurse this afternoon wrote in her notes that I had urinated but I hadn't so when I told the night shift at midnight that I hadn't urinate that went in panic mode because of quantity lol
  10. 1st morning after surgery feel fine, no pain, really thirsty and had to have a Cather . Looking forward lo leak test to I can get some fluids in
  11. His is it, the time has come. Tomorrow morning I have my sleeve revised to an Omega loop gastric bypass, I am so ready for this, mindset is spot on and the excitement has kicked I . Of course I am nervous too, see you on the other side Paul
  12. I would say, with none of those symptoms you definitely wouldn't if hurt your sleeve , my guess is that you just have sore muscles, they have been through a lot a past couple of weeks
  13. Leanne, I've got a really cheeky question When I had my sleeve done. Jessica gave me 1 last meal the night before, we're you told this with the bypass at all? I've been really good and my deist has been spot on, but damn I want 1 last thing. I know it's not the right attitude to have buy hay
  14. Thanks so much, that really means a great deal Glad to hear you are doing well
  15. I eat oatmeal and add a scoop of chocolate protein in after it's cooked
  16. A suggestion to you, forget the scales, forget the measurements. Take photos every 4 weeks, front, back and side view. Trust me u will be shocked with the transformation. Try and get your partner or someone to take it with you in the same or similar underwear each time. It also sounds to me that you are not eating enough, your body could be holding in and storing. A females weight can vary +- 5lbs depending on hormones, periods etc. it's true muscle does weigh more than fat but saying that, a femAle could only gain 4-5lbs muscle in a whole year, and to be gaining muscle you would need to be eating a lot of food, mainly Protein. Scales lie, don't worry about it Paul
  17. Hi, I had a sleeve done in Dec12 and am going in on the 29th May for a bypass due to my sleeve stretching and no restrictions. Normally doctors look at other health risks too and they decide which is the best option for you. I would say keep an open mind, study as much as you can on both and prepare for what the doctor might say, either way good luck
  18. I'll jump in between you all, mine is on the 29th May, I'm having the omega loop gastric bypass, from a revised sleeve. Excited and nervous. Have been on pre op diet and have lost 3kgs so far, pretty happy with that
  19. Hi hope this helps #1 straws can create air pockets in your sleeve so best not to use them #2 sugar contains high calories and of course helps us put on weight easily. Excess sugar can create high insulin levels and diabetes- very high though. I wouldn't worry about thing like BBQ sauce though #3 if you don't have reflux when you don't take it, I wouldn't worry about it, but check with doctor 1st #4 sounds like you are doing perfect. - anything between 1/4 and 1/2 a cup #5 you can mix protein with what ever you like #6 always try real food before turning to bars, both real and better nutrients, your body will tell you if eggs and cheeses is enough, do you still feel hungry? Is the cheese low fat?
  20. Ok, so I was sleeved in December 2012, I followed everything exactly how it should of been, my diet was 100% spot on BUT I never ever felt restrictions never felt nausea never had dumping. My meals got bigger and bigger and started to eat what ever I wanted, I lost 50kgs and gained 50kgs. Went back to my surgeon who did swallow tests and blood tests to see why but just referred me to another surgeon. I did the cream rice test and stopped eating cause I wanted to not because I felt full. Surgeon said that although the sleeve was only 5 months old, it was like a sleeve of 12 months. I continued to put on weight. Now I am 1 week away from having an omega loop bypass and can't wait, I really hope this helps me change my life. Just to mention, it's really easy for people to say "do it on your own, you don't need surgery" well I am an ex personal trainer and studied nutrition, yes I know what I'm suppose to do but can't do it alone
  21. I too am bipolar, I was sleeved in December 2012 and my medication never changed. I started pre op yesterday as I go in for an omega loop gastric bypass on 29th May. I too am feeling anxious, depressed and struggle to sleep. I have been advised that my medication won't change aft the bypass. I was also told that I cannot crush the tablets at all as they are time released for a reason
  22. My bypass I'd only taking place on 29th May but my sleeve was dec 2012, I can eat what ever I want with no restriction, I lost 50kgs and gained 50 kgs, since then I have high blood pressure and high cholesterol, my health just keeps deteriating, my sleeve has without a doubt stretched, I drink about 4 Pepsi max a day, I still believe it is all my own doing though
  23. Well the time has come, pre op diet starts tomorrow for 2 weeks, surgery is on 29th May. This is a sleeve revised to Omega loop Bypass (otherwise none as mini gastric bypass). The emotions have kicked in and started to feel very nervous.
  24. I'm having surgery on 29th May, an omega loop gastric bypass, from a sleeve
