  1. Hi i Am scouting for good books as weel. 1.The emotional first + aid kit. 2. Eating well after weightless surgery. These two books came highly recommended from Kaiser Permanente. You can get them through Amazon. Hope this helps.
  2. Thanks for all the tips! January's still a long way and I am trying early coz I know coffee is not really good for the sleeve. Will jut have to keep trying- - hopefully will get me to drink more water and symptoms will go away soon! Lol!!! I am trying to stay away from people
  3. Hope everything goes well for you... Will keep you in my prayers! Get well soon!
  4. I stopped drinking coffee in preparation for sleeve in January. Massive headache, grumpy and having withdrawal really bad. Medicine won't even help. I usually drink double espresso daily-- is anyone else having the same issue? How do you deal with this?
  5. Meeting the surgeon again on dec 31, and if I meet the weight requirement that he set. then will get a surgery date - hopefully in January! Hope to be a January sleever like y'all
  6. Thank you Cher! I slept and got over the sadness. You are right, or more month is just around the corner! Am focusing now on doing the preop diet, working out and losing weight. The scales at Kaiser SsF seems to always weigh 4lbs more than my scale at home so I need to lose more actually. Have to meet his weigh requirement otherwise no surgery. I can do this! Thanks for everyone support, I feel I am not alone.
  7. You can do it!!! I met with the surgeon yesterday and he also wants me to lose ten pounds by dec 31, and then if I meet the goal- then he can give me a date. Disappointed and sad that I didnt get a date yet--- but slept and got over the sadness. Thank goodness for y'all support-- I'm so motivated! We can do this!
  8. Hello everyone, I met with Surgeon@ kaiser south san francisco. A little bit disappointed because he said he will see me in a month ( January), and set a goal weigh for me to reach. Afterwards, he said we will schedule the surgery in about a month- meaning February 2013. I got Bariatric Approval in October 2012.. Approval process took 3 years. I was so excited about meeting surgeon but now feel deflated ;(
  9. My nutritionist recommended "My Fitness pal" and so far it has the best review . I really like it and its great. You can also check "Lose It" -- both came in highly recommended from Kaiser Permanente Bariatric Team. hope this helps
  10. Hello everyone, just need advise regarding Sauna. I use it a lot at the gym, it helps with muscle pains, and am planning on getting one from Costco. I am having second thoughts because I am not sure If this is okay for vertical sleeve. Planned surgery wil be end of December. Please advise. Thank you.
  11. Hang in there everyone coz u are not alone. It's so easy to pass judgment, which people tend to do but they have no idea how it is to be our shoes. I'm In constant pain from plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis, knee and shoulder pain and other complications from obesity. I choose to do it for myself...and could care less about what other people think. I will only keep it between me and husband, and the positive people in my life - to cut off the unnecessary drama. I choose to live, and to exist! Everything else failed, and am nervous, scared, happy and excited about it. Will meet with surgeon on the 29 for surgery date. Good luck to all of us!
  12. Thank you everyone for sharing your post-op experience. I will meet my surgeon by the end of the month. It helps a lot to know what others are experiencing, because just like any surgery- this is a big decision for me. I am coming in with my eyes open and being realistic about it. You all give inspiration, have a safe recovery everyone.
  13. Good luck! Wishing you all the best on your surgery and recovery ;D
  14. Great to know there's south san Francisco kaiser sleevers here. I am meeting the surgeon on the 27th and I am very excited! Would love to hear more from everyone's experience!
