  2. I was sleeves in 1/07! And have the same symptoms as you. I'm exhausted (thought I was anemic but my blood work came out fine) and struggling to get in my protein and fluids. According to my doctor, everything inside could still be swollen up to 3 months and he advances the diet very slowly. I can barely get in 1 soft boiled egg and the protein shakes make me sick. I have heard of stretching the sleeve but it seems a bit early to do that.
  3. I'm only 5 weeks out but I am struggling with getting in my calories. I'm still on soft foods but one soft boiled egg (chewed very well) feels like I ate a steak! My new stomach is very picky and I get nauseous very quickly. I have tried protein shakes and they just don't sit well. I've heard about strictures. It's probably to soon for me but ask your doctor if that is a possuvility

    January Newbies ! Progress ?

Yes, I have tried everything! Up until recently, I couldn't have anything cold as it made my stomach spasm.

    January Newbies ! Progress ?

I had my surgery on 1/07 and I have no pain but I am exhausted all the time! I can't seem to find a protein drink I can tolerate (I have tried several)) and sometimes I only drink about 36oz of fluid so I am thinking that might be it. I am jealous of the people who are going to the gym every day! I had blood work done yesterday and I am not anemic but my thyroid was a little elevated. Also, I still can't tolerate anything more than cottage cheese and yogurt. I tried a soft boiled egg last night for dinner and it got stuck for hours. Ugh!!

    Feel Gross After Eating?

How did you make out Beckyy? I have the same symptoms
  7. Hi all! I got sleeved on 1/07 at Winchester Hospital. No pain (since the gas resolved!) but I'm feeling weak and not sure I can go back to work on Monday. Dr. Ameri was my surgeon and has a wonderful reputation but I'm wondering if his guidelines are a bit strict. Two weeks of fluids pre-op, two days postop of no liquids, 1 week of clears and 2 weeks of full liquids. Even with two protein shakes a day, I still don't feel like I'm taking in enough. I'm afraid motto follow his guidelines but was wondering if anyone else had him as a surgeon and what your experience was.

I'm going to try a cup,of tea. Did you have to decaffeinated tea?

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try that. I'm finding my mornings are rough. I get up and drink about 8oz of vitamin water and then have a yogurt about 1-2 hours later but I feel so nauseous. Usually after I have some warm soup, I start to feel better. Afternoons are definitely better and that stinks cuz I'm a morning girl. Did you experience this?

It went well. staples are out and it feels so good not to have them itching and pulling. Louise did exactly what you told me she would do...she outlined each step by date. I'm still amazed how slow he advances the diet but I'm sticking to it. Any good suggestions for protein shakes? I can't seem to find one I like. Did you try Isopure?

Thanks! I had a rough morning. I started with a sugar free carnation instant breakfast and could only get 1/2 down and started feeling nauseous. So, I took a break and started sipping a protein shake and the nausea worsened. I feel like I'm not doing as good as I should and I'm nervous because I'm going back to work on Monday. I called Dr. ameri because I felt like I was doing something wrong and he told me that sometimes people can not tolerate cool or cold drinks as it might be causing my stomach to spasm. He suggested something warm. I had chicken broth and got immediately relief. I don't know if I can get a protein shake down at room temp tough!! I'm going to stick to broth and water until I see him Tuesday. We're you able to tolerate cool or cold fluids?

Thanks for responding! I have my postop appointment on Tuesday. Did the staples hurt coming out? Also, did he advance our diet at that time? I would love to have a scrambled egg!

    January Newbies ! Progress ?

I was sleeved 1/07 and I'm down 22 lbs (including pre-op loss). I'm slowing advancing from clear to full liquids. My doctor is extra cautious. I see I'm next Tuesday to get the staples out and I'm hoping he will let me add some soft foods such as cream of wheat. Has any had their staples out yet? If so, how painful was it? I have almost 20

    January Newbies ! Progress ?

I was sleeved on January 7th and I am down 20 lbs (including pre-op liquid diet loss). The mornings are rough with weakness and fatigue but once I get some fluids in, I perk up. I'm due back to work on the 21st. I have a feeling i'll only be working half days though for a week or so because my doctor is very strict and orders a liquid diet for another week.
  16. ER!!! I am not only a sleever but I am a RN. A small infection can turn into sepsis pretty quickly.

    January 2013 Sleevers?

Aim was really nervous about the pre-op liquid diet too but it does get easier after the first few days. I lived on vitamin water because it kept me hydrated and the vitamins helped combat the weakness associated with not eating. Good luck!

    January 2013 Sleevers?

My doctor has me on liquids only for two more weeks. Went for a ride in the car with my husband today. It felt good to get out but the bumps were a bit tricky!
  19. So far, so good! I didn't realize I would be dealing with the gas pains for this long though. I went for a short walkout side today and it did help. How are you doing?
  20. I had mine done 1/07 and could use a buddy. All the people I know that had bariatric surgery, had bypasses.

    January 2013 Sleevers?

I had my sleeve done on 1/07. Except for the gas pains, it has been going ok up until this evening. My mother made a chicken soup for my family but strained it for me. I was drinking the broth tonight and suddenly I felt like something was stuck and I began to vomit. A tiny piece of chicken came out. I have been burping since. I hope it didn't do any damage! My only advice...walk, walk, walk! It really does help
