    Need Protein Recommendations

Try the sugar free Carnation Brand shakes or the Atkins. 10 to 11 grams for a 12oz shake. Taste like chocolate milk to me.

    Beans

Taco Bell has a black bean burrito but it has rice so you may have to wait a couple more week. I usually can only eat half at one setting. Also add goat cheese to the refried beans. It melts easier and is thinner.
  3. Bama sleever here. Sleeved Oct. 12th, down 32 lbs since surgery. Eating normal foods again just much smaller quantity. Thanksgiving was not as hard as expected.

The VSG is the way to go. Keep in mind you will still have follow up with doctors with this surgery to stay on the right track (mainly lab work). The pain should not be worse than the Lapband just will last a couple extra days. My stomach didn't really hurt just the area of my drain and many people don't even have to have a drain installed.

Why Is Meat Making Me Sick?

I was told not to eat beef or pork until 6 weeks out. Chicken only if you eat small bites and chew very well. Fish and seafood should go down well.

    Omg

Stay away from the rice or anything with carbs. Lean proteins are good and NO fats. It's all about shrinking the liver. I only had 3 days liquid and I weighed over 650.

    Whole Pills Post Op

Whole pills are not good because your stomach being smaller cant absorb the medicine properly.

My insurance actually covered everything except for co-pay $225 and hospital stay had $250 a night co-pay. Don't know the cash price but I encourage you to contact them. The hospital just spent over a million dollars to be cutting edge in Bariatric Surgery with brand new O.R. and about to have new rooms just for weight loss surgery patients.
