  1. Up the assed! I didn't think of that. Perhaps I should google that too
  2. Here you go... http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/288108-lapband-vs-sleeve-vs-bypass-surgery/page-4
  3. There you go, present it to them in a organized thought out way that shows you did your research. And yep start saving that money knowing it's for a good cause
  4. Well call me stupid.. But I think somebody might be mistaken... If this were true wouldn't it mean the stapling device would have the be doing its work from inside the stomach therefore going through the mouth?? I mean unless these were magical staples that twist and turn then through osmosis enter the stomach??
  5. Lol! So let's get back to these cutting edge "poopable" staples...
  6. Lol can you repeat yourself I didn't quite get that...
  7. Well that's good, they are probably grasping at straws then because they are scared.. And I would be too if my daughter wanted a surgery.. It's just what parents do Listen I'm 47 and didn't tell my own mom until a week before my surgery I did this for me, no one else and I didn't need the drama. But when I did tell her she was at first pissed but then asked "well can I at least drive you or something because I want to be involved" If they are not willing to at least listen to your research. Then nicely tell them you love them and you are doing this (surgery) and you hope that at some point they can give you the support that you will need.
  8. What? I didn't hear you I was to busy pooping out my staples... 0_0
  9. Is it a bad thing to see a friend get healthy and happy? It would be ok if 80% of your motivation was from seeing a friend that this worked for!! Mexico... Yes I can see how that would freak a mom and dad out.. The best you can do on that is get together a bunch of information about medical tourism and it's safety.. There are some really good doctors that practice there (not all of course, so do lots of research) and they cater to patients from all over the world.
  10. I know!! butter had to scratch around today to dig up a fight!
  11. Do you live with them?? If not they really don't have much if a say on what you can and cannot do.. But if you do I can see how that would be difficult. When I first mentioned surgery to my husband he said absolutely not! And he's in the medical field! I asked please just come to a consultation with the surgeon with me.. It really helped, during that consultation he understood what I was going through. Also his fears calmed about the surgery itself after talking to the surgeon and getting his questions answered. Ask them to at least go to an appointment with you or an support group. As far as happiness we need to work on that too and therapy I feel should go hand and hand with surgery
  12. Lol but really I do wish you luck (not that you'll need it) with the band I think it will be a good procedure for you
  13. Girl how are you mashing up all of our quotes and presenting them as others??
  14. Curious when you are eating your bagel are you drinking coffee at the same time? I ask because you put them at the same time. At four months you are still in the prime losing phase. I would look at your diet and make some changes to it with healthy Protein and veggies., Also your schedule is more like all day snacking with no "real" meals.... I know you didn't ask my opinion.. But you know what they say about opinions..
  15. Oh and yes I drink wine occasionally.... Two curious facts about that though! One: I get buzzed damn quick with just a smack of wine! Two: As fast as the buzz comes it goes away and I'm back to very sober and stay that way??
  16. Yes I would search far and wide with your research... As prestigious as Sacramento magazine may be.. I would question your surgeons motivation behind her comments.. Perhaps she enjoys the repeat medical appointments that she will share with her banded clients? Or perhaps it's a competency issue with performing the sleeve surgery? I notice she does revision surgery.. One of the surgery she offers is the bypass which is a great surgery but involves cutting and staples also.
  17. Research is such a good thing yes You know when I first started this journey my first thought was the band (nothing against them) But through independent research I came to the conclusion that the sleeve (evil staples and all ) Was the right procedure for me. Good luck girlie
  18. He's doing great, considering he hasn't trained for this since birth like some of the other kids still left in the competition Bat wings yes... weight loss and age a double whammy for me, when I started this I said if I get healthy lose the weight and look decent IN clothes, I'll be good. But a little working out never hurt anyone
  19. Did he say where they would "pop out" to?? Are they free floating? Shat out??? Or??? Do they form a pretty necklace around the spleen?
  20. We have that here! It's called shepherd pie As my son would say... I like pie
  21. Blond! I was always jealous of women with lighter hair because there is so much you can do. Go lighter and highlights. When you have black hair it's just black! I do have gray in it now and instead of dying it I enjoy it it's like my rendition of highlights Isn't it a trip to go away and come back lighter?? We went away this summer and I ate!! I was scared shitEDless when I came home... But I was down? Weird! Yes the beach is fun and it gives my little family unit time to bond and tell each other we are thankful for each other
  22. Could you be referring to the staples used to close your incisions ???
