Ok! I didn't tell my inlaws until two days after because I needed peace before hand.. I had my surgery last year a week before thanksgiving.. Everybody handles it differently but there was no way I could of cooked and entertained! In fact my husband and kids went to my inlaws that year and I stayed behind and rested. My opinion? If you have the support of them and your husband to take over and do the work if need be and also "permission" to leave the party time to time to rest? If you want them there you should be fine, barring no complications..
