  1. Well Taco Bell..um... Well... I personally wasn't cleared for anything like that after only a month, but perhaps your doctor cleared you earlier. I will say I wouldn't count anything fast food as good Protein unless you are in a pinch. But more importantly the lettuce might be an issue. Most sleevers can't really handle raw veggies and lettuce that early out . And the doctors usually say no to it for several months so I would be very careful or skip it all together. Some people say they eat the pintos and cheese there? Or how about a bean and ground meat burrito and spoon out the innards to eat?
  2. I really think Alex should put a "sticky" on that thread...
  3. I would like to pause here and take a moment to remember some more poignant quotes from the poopable staples thread....... "Really quick the staples they use for sleeve are so small you more than likely wont even see them when you poop them out! Gross but true!" " He told me I had two rows of mini tiny staples that would all fall out and eventually I would poop them out but were do small I wouldn't even see them!!! Maybe my dr does things more modern! You can give him a call if you would like!!! Rockwood clinic spokane wa , dr spitz , but any one will do!" "Nope they didn't use staples on my five tiny superglued incisions. !!! My dr was really advanced I guess" "You know it's not uncommon for advancement in the medical field! Again , the staples the good drs use fall out or dissipate !!!!! Google it , I don't care but titanium staple are not all that common any more!" "No , maybe yours were but things are changing and good drs use tiny rows of staples that fall out over time! Sorry, but your wrong! It is possible for medical advancements! My will fall out in my poop!"
  4. Yep.. no sympathy here. As a matter of fact perhaps missus Butter and I can sync up our cycles so we can verbally abuse you at the same time
  5. Lol my husband just came home and asked if he should trash the 5 over ripe bananas in the fridge or "are youI going to make banana bread"... We have pumpkin muffins and pumpkin cookies. Sorry Charlie! I just trashed the bananas:p
  6. Ugh double post again.... Jane I hope your evening goes well and yes at least it's not your 50th!
  7. This is the recipe I loosely follow. Except no one likes the nuts oh but pine nuts would be good! Oh and I double it. I like going getting more of specialty bags of stuffing cubes not just generic pepridge farms type. And if you can't find sage sausage Italian sausage will do.. Sage, Sausage and Apple Dressing Ingredients 16-ounce bag stuffing cubes 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, plus more for greasing the pan and topping 1 pound fresh sage sausage, casing removed 1 medium onion, chopped 2 cooking apples, such as Gravenstein, Rome, or Golden Delicious, peeled, cored, and chopped 1 to 2 ribs celery with leaves, chopped 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt 3 cups chicken broth, homemade or low-sodium canned 1/4 cup chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley 1/2 cup walnut pieces, toasted (See Note) 2 eggs, beaten Directions Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Put the stuffing cubes in a large bowl and set aside. Butter a 3-quart casserole dish. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausage and break up with a wooden spoon. Cook until it loses most of its pink color, but not so much that it's dry, about 5 minutes. Add the sausage and pan drippings to the stuffing cubes. Melt the remaining butter in the pan. Add the onion, apple, celery, and salt. Cook until the vegetables get soft, about 5 minutes. Add the broth and parsley and bring to a boil. Pour the vegetable mixture over the stuffing cubes and toss until evenly moistened. Mix in the walnuts and eggs. Loosely pack the dressing in the prepared pan and cook uncovered until the top forms a crust, about 40 minutes. Drizzle about 2 tablespoons of turkey pan drippings or melted butter over the top. Cook until the top is crisp and golden, about 20 minutes more. Set immediately or warm. Tips: Put the dressing in the oven during the last hour of cooking the turkey Note: To toast nuts, spread them out on a baking sheet and toast in a 350 degree F oven until golden, about 7 minutes.
  8. Oh Georgia it would be so awesome if it made me sick! Or overly full! I just asked my husband if I should really make that much stuffing this year because now I'm sleeved well one minute of puppy dog looks and "well we all still love it later" I'm making a ton again. Yes food sadness.. I had a very sad morning two days ago I was drinking coffee with the husband and suddenly I missed my old morning breakfast. EVERYDAY I would make a peanut butter and banana sandwich on two pieces of Ezekiel bread... Yum hot coffee sips In between bites of comfort. Wow I think winter is hard! Right your in freezing weather right now doesn't it just call for warm comfort food..
  9. Oh see! you love your mum! Mine? Meh... Ask her fifth husband how lovable she is Looks like creativity it is then. The soup bit is good, and maybe tell her you're getting over a stomach thing and just don't want to push it..
  10. I like this ^ Really I didn't tell me mom until a week before and it was to late for her to meddle. As far as my mother Inlaw I didn't tell her till right after and she was pissed and yelled and barked about how dangerous it was.. and why didn't I tell her.. Well because you would of bitched and barked about how dangerous it was You never saw that old battle axe shut her trap so fast By the way the mother Inlaw is very proud and tells me every time how good I look
  11. Well shit all I ever eat out is sashimi... Guess that's out for you Girl, couldn't you bring her to one of those real swanky French restaurants.. You know the ones that serve you an artfully put together plate that would only feed a gnat and cost a million dollars that most normal people would have to stop at Micky D's after for a meal cause they'd be starving
  12. Yes maintaining through the holidays will be a feat in itself! Perhaps expecting to lose is to much but I really want to try and keep the food in perspective.. Thanksgiving is one (or two ) days Christmas is one day. And I have one party that I know of so far so that's a third day. If I think like that I'm hoping to survive... I've seen a couple of members in the main forum say oops I'm falling of the wagon a bit but I will straighten up after the holidays. Yeah for me I'm trying not to make the holidays two months long of binge fest. I'm hoping to get to moderation some day feed... Im just not there for yet, I start off ok then I just keep eating more. I still get such and emotinal "fix" through food it's still a comfort and self soothing act, that once I start I want to continue.
  13. 1966 baby here too. I had surgery a year ago. I've had challenges through the year but the good days far outweigh the hard ones and I wouldn't change my decision to find health for anything Good luck to you next month!
  14. Umm... Couldn't find a good doc in Washington??? My girl, you had the best most cutting edge surgeon using modern techniques (shitable staples) right under your nose!!! You just wanted to go to Mexico to see the zebra donkey...
  15. Feed I thought about Wednesday but I'm beginning to see how our holiday tradition is going to mess with my week. I cook the whole turkey and fixings the day before and we eat a "thanksgiving" meal then on thanksgiving proper I pack up turkey stuffing cranberry sandwiches and our little family unit goes to the beach to give thanks and eats good food again... Wow I missed thanksgiving last year because I was down for the count. But I tell you it's going to be hard this year. I LOVE I mean LOVE LOVE stuffing and I make enough of it for 15 People even though we are only four... It's my downfall I do stuffings with everything but the kitchen sink sausage, apples, herbs, butter.. Yum and
  16. Oh skinniness! I wish I could throw them away! I did "confess" to the family last night about my cookie raid they assured me the rest will be eaten today (bless their hearts:p) My lovely family, they are all thin.. And don't see the need to suffer unduly.. So I keep mostly good things but crap makes it way in too. Like the tray of pumpkin muffins my husband brought home last week.. Tis the season of baked goods you know.. Tonight my daughter is having 2 of her friends over to watch movies and spend the night. And OMG these girls eat like SH*T! So it's all about my willpower today because every nasty chip, candy, pizza and cookie will be brought into my house. Teenagers gotta love em...,
  17. Ok! I need a lifeline.. And your it baby! My stomach is growling my mouth is watering because of all the carbs I've eaten.. But today for you and because you are doing it, I will stay on plan, only healthy protein and veg will pass these lips! Cookies on the counter be damned!!!
  18. I love that I can finally see our posts on the iPhone app! But it's only when I'm signed in. If I'm signed out or if I sign in under my for test purposes alternate profile it's hidden
  19. Cowgirl I'm wondering about what days to fast next week too... I have never switched my days not once since starting 5:2 I've skipped fasts because of vacation but not said "oh today's not good I'll do tomorrow" only because I know me and when I start doing that, tomorrow never comes I'm struggling and the holidays aren't even here yet... I realized I'm eating like someone who's maintenance even though I don't think I'm quite there yet.. I'm holding somewhat steady between 149 and 150 but I'm finding myself getting more lax everyday!! Yesterday my son had a potluck at his school and we had a ton of pumpkin chocolate chip cookies left so they came back home with us... I ate 4 last night Thinking about it, my carb sugar load has been heavy all week and protein consumption is down. I'm scared, scared of myself actually. Sorry this post turned out to be just another all about me.. Anyway fast next week for me perhaps Tuesday and Friday.
  20. Girl, rule number #1 do not eat in bed. I've read the food philosophy thread and a couple of others that you have posted in the last couple of days (stalker? No there just isn't much going in here) and you seem at a crossroads... Are you happy at your weight? You said that if you never lost another pound you would be pleased. You mentioned that you don't want to diet. But we do have to change our diet in order to lose this weight. It's not just about eating less it's about eating better. Right now with the exception of eating in bed (not good anytime) you sound like you are eating to maintain.. Which isn't a bad thing if you are happy where you are at.. Well except you really should eat more Protein sorry your daily food intake was like a carbaholic party I'm not beating up on you! I'm at a crossroads myself I have moments of thinking AND people telling me I'm at a good weight... I'm finding myself not losing anymore and it makes sense because I've been eating recently like someone who is in maintenance..
  21. Don't worry after you eat the cheese you'll poop them out..
  22. Yep and those little flecks you see in there??Staples....
