  1. I imagine she will be mad! Just like my daughter is when I say "no" or "not now"...But at the end of the day I am the mother and she knows I make my decisions with her best interest in mind. And I might add, she has come to me more than once saying "I know you are right mom".... My word, that's why they are not on their own yet. They should not be making choices that have life long consequences (like having babies) at this age. And speaking to doing it out of a perceived fear of her becoming promiscuous? Facebook and online in general can be a dangerous place where girls and boys lie about themselves. This is an area where firm rules should be put in place. My daughter just now was allowed a Facebook account (she's 17) and trust me I have full clearance. Teach her to be strong and to love herself...
  2. BREAKING NEWS... DUH!!! He's Christy's doctor!!!!! http://m.nypost.com/p/news/local/chris_weight_loss_doc_sued_in_deaths_C7tWUoxjwtvKokQMoh3HNM Everyone asked why he had band... And I said the band lobbyists got to him, I just might be right!
  3. You'd think he could afford to fix that grill then...
  4. How come after reading you two bantering back and forth, I've got the theme for "the love boat" Going through my head....
  5. Oops fixed that.. Yes sleeve
  6. I saw that it says at the bottom for people who are a 40 BMI and at the same time they say for people that need to lose 30 pounds?? Yep and the fast talking woman saying slips are extremely "rare"
  7. Cheri, don't make me put my unicorn suit on again... I already had to don it yesterday to make myself look nicer Skinniness, Getting back into the swing of things after vacation was hard!!! It took me two weeks, but dint give up! And remember we are like the mob you just can't drop out and quit... I think some of us might be in the mid summer blues..I know I'm fighting it. Leeann, your weight loss is amazing by the way! Swizzly, yep chicken with a ton of greens my go to meal on a fast day
  8. Bingo!! Scary stuff...
  9. So I'm looking at the tv this morning and I see a commercial for lap band surgery it's got a doctor on it touting all the bariatric surgeries he's done (bypass, band, and sleeve) He goes on to say that he recommends the band to most of his patients because its much safer than the SLEEVE ??? It then shows a study at the bottom that said banded patients have 64% FEWER complications after one year and 74% less in 30 days... Interesting, very, very interesting...
  10. Yes can you imagine having this done and going back to school so soon after?? And starting high school?? Getting liquids and required protein is literally a full time job in the months after surgery.. One of the MANY reasons this is not a good idea.. Speaking of which, how much thought has been put into this? To the op you were supposed to have this done to yourself in March, but got sick and say now your thinking of just doing the both of you? And paid her deposit.. That's a small chunk of time to make such a major decision on such a MAJOR surgery.... I know I keep chiming in here, but honestly I'm sick to my stomach about this.. And as a mother of a teen girl beg you to reconsider if only for just a bit and go through it with yourself first.
  11. I hear you can get some action in the chat room here....
  12. Look at you! 161?? You are knocking on the 150's door'
  13. Looking good girlie! Happy fasting to us all
  14. Sleeving his niece at 12 years old, youngest sleeve patient in the world.. Nice. Great advertisement for the Dr..... All these videos he makes of this girl...
  15. Hehehe... Night girlie
  16. Lol.. Well get your fill lady, I had to leave a good debate on another thread to put this thing on! I can't go back now looking all fluffy and sweet!
  17. You know it's hard to be mean with this thing on! You lose all credibility when you come prancing in!!
  18. Ok, because you asked
  19. I am truly sorry that you tried to kill yourself, and glad that you failed... That is not the path that every obese child will take though. I to have the experience as an obese child and teenager. Complete with being teased. But again as a mother of a teenage daughter and having had experience working with teenagers in the past, the emotional aspect of being sleeved is a lot to take on at such a young age.. And to your point about 14 year olds can have babies??? Yes they can, but again are they emotionally capable of being a good mother? That is debatable. I wasn't saying that this child shouldn't have it done, but why jump and look later?? What's wrong with stopping a minute to cover some important bases like cognitive therapy and letting the mother go first to pave the way? This child will have to be different than all the other kids her age after being sleeved, this and other things really need to be looked at. So I'm not transferring myself onto this child. I'm giving advice to something I feel really strong about.
  20. Haha! I hate when people say that too!! Or you know your going to get loose skin.... Duh!! Well goal weight. My doctor didn't give me one. I picked a number that is in the healthy BMI range. I'd say if you want to lose a bit more and you have it on you go for it. But at the end of the day it's about comfort level, and you sound pretty happy so 10 more pounds might be perfect.
  21. Welcome back Leeann it's funny that you have a daughter old enough to have a husband!! Are you fasting tomorrow? Oh and daisy your right I need something to help the plumbing! Don't tell me what happened on B.B I haven't watched it yet
  22. Lol yes, I've been here awhile.. I don't know if it makes me a pro. Especially with my pouting earlier
  23. Welcome Jim, and awesome job with your loss so far
