  2. We are all a month out, tomorrow! How is everybody doing? I am feeling fantastic. I'm back on eating regular foods... and I have to say, the portions I'm able to eat are just fine with me. How is everyone else doing?? Best, Stephanie
  3. Hi you! Don't get discouraged. The same thing happened to me last week.. straight.. same weight.. nothing. Then I woke up and 4 lbs. down. I told myself I am not going to weigh myself everyday. I am going to stick to once a week... rather than count numbers, I'm going off how my clothes feel, which are loosening everyday! You're doing fantastic
  4. Best of luck to you. Like the previous poster said, it's your battle to win. Trust us all, it gets better. I'm 3+ weeks out and am feeling great. Loads of energy and 23 lbs down. We are going to have a great summer!!
  5. Alright Ladies!! We are 3+ weeks out.... Checking in on how everyone is doing?? I am 23 lbs. down. Super happy. My NUT moved me to mushy food stage a week earlier. Now, I'm up to solids and I'm experiencing with a few different things. Nothing has really given me any issues except the Clam Chowder Soup I ate... boy, I won't be doing that again. I only had about 5 spoonfuls total but that ran right through me!! How about you gals? Feeling good? Back to work? I'm excited to see how your all doing! -Stephanie
  6. You won't be disappointed! Just makes sure you don't heat your Water past 140 degrees...it will curdle the Protein. A safe bet is to fill an 8oz glass full of water and place in the microwave for 1 min 10 secs... works like a charm I'd be interest to see what you think!
  7. Best of luck to you for a fast, healthy recovery. It only gets better!
  8. Hi! I feel your pain. I'm 3 weeks out an still struggle with it. I can tell you what is great is Unjury Chicken Broth Protein Powder. (www.unjury.com). It tastes just like chicken broth and so easy to drink. Each scoop has 21g of protein.. it's pretty easy to get three 8oz. of these in each day. Give it a whirl, you won't be disappointed. Good luck to you!
  9. Cheri - This is off topic but I just wanted to say that although I don't post much, I truly think that you add a lot of valuable insight to this forum. I read your posts often and appreciate all of them. Just thought I would let you know that -Stephanie
  10. Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'm pretty confident that it's nothing to worry about, just my "innards" healing. I did notice that standing and walking stretch it out a bit so I think I need to focus on doing that more. I keep telling myself, two more months, two more months... I will be good as new. Fingers crossed. Good luck to you all!
  11. Hi All! I am almost 3 weeks post-op and back to work. I'm finding that sitting at my desk in my chair, I am super sore in my abdomen. I am thinking it's because I'm hunched over while working on the computer. I didn't have this pain while recuperating in my recliner at home! Has anyone else experienced this? How long does it last?! Thanks for the feedback! Stephanie
  12. Hi! I live in Redmond and was sleeved on the 27th. Down almost 20 pounds. Hang in there!
  13. It's tough. Really tough. Have you given Chantix a try? Look into it if you can, it really works. The problem with smoking outside of the known.. you really run the risk of interference with your healing. Smoking dramatically decreases the amount of oxygen that you need to heal.... you run a huge risk for leaks as well. I know it's going to be hard but you really should try to refrain during your healing process. Best of luck to you.
  14. Hi gang! Glad to see that everyone is responding and posting with their experiences. In reading, it seems like Protein has been an issue for most, and I'm no exception. It's tough to get those 60 grams in! I have been slacking a bit.. finding myself drinking a Protein shake (30grams) and then a greek yogurt throughout the day (16grams). I'm trying to squeeze that third drink in..... I'm just have a hard time with my liquids! It's hard to force sips... now, if it was wine, it might not be so difficult! lol Keep up the good work everyone!!!
  15. HI everyone! We are now two days in! I am feeling really well. The only real issue I'm having is the constant gurgle in my stomache that tells me I need to burp.. But I can't! Anyone else experiencing that?? Tomorrow I start my protien liquid phase. Excited to have something else besides crystal light and chicken broth How are you guys doing? Hangin in there?!!!
  16. Stacy, Best of luck to you too! I'd like to stay in touch with you since our surgeries are on the same day... it would be nice to have that "buddy" to talk to to keep each other on our toes and support. Good luck to you! Guess I will be drinking some Protein shakes this weekend.....
  17. I have to say that throughout the last month, this blog site has been my savior! I appreciate all the comments, encouragement, and support that everyone on here seems to share. I'm currently a week away, and on my low-carb diet... it hasn't been too bad at all. It's funny; I was telling my husband last night that prior to surgery authorization, I was on top of everything! Speedy to get my psych evaluation, my blood draws and everything for approval. Now that I've received it, and my surgery date is next week, I'm lagging! By that, I mean I have this whole bowl full of chewable Vitamins, Protein drinks, powders, liquids etc. that my NUT has given me, and I have only tried one thing. What am I waiting for?? I think I am subconsciously really nervous... has anyone had second thoughts? I do know that this is a life changer and I am soooo ready for that change. Maybe just pre-surgery jitters. That's what I'm chalking it up to. Best to all of you throughout your endeavors and a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! -Stephanie
