True Or False
It adds to your liquids for the day, so make sure you are still getting your liquids in. Replace whatever amount of shake you would drink with Water, juice, tea, etc....

True Or False
The reason people drink the shakes is because of the protein count. it's easier to get down 11 oz of shake that has like 15grams of protein in it than it is to eat foods that contain 15 grams of protein. We just can't eat all that food and still make our protein goal, esp in the beginning. If you can get it in without the shakes, go for it. They're just more convenient, that's all!

Time off
I would have gone out of my mind if I was off for four weeks. I worked Dec 18th then flew out for surgery and didn't come back till Jan 2nd. Thankfully we go "dark" between Christmas and New Year which was my main reason for wanting to do it then. I had enough time off. I feel fine to sit all day and I'm making these strapping boys around here lift and carry things. Two weeks is, I think, enough time unless you have a strenuous job and then play it by ear. You will be down on energy a bit.

Suggestions for a great UNFLAVORED Protein powder
I need to be able to add Protein powder to Soup or coffee or what-not... it's the only way I'm going to get protein in. What are your recent finds for a truly unflavored Protein Powder that dissolves well and doesn't change the taste of what you're eating? powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury, to me, is NOT unflavored. I can taste that stuff! Plus it clumps. Not a fan! My friend drinks something by SEI and likes it. I don't want an enormous tub of it though.

Two Weeks Post Op today!
Sometimes I still wake up and can’t BELIEVE I went and got me some weight loss surgery. I actually did it. This year is gonna BANG, BABY! Highest Weight EVAH- 273 Day of Surgery - 250 Week 1 Weight - 241.2 Week 2 Weight - 239.2 Total Loss - 10.8lbs (-2lbs) I promised myself that I would never be disappointed about a loss, so I refuse to be disappointed. I DID expect more but my body has been playing bald headed games with constipation and water retention, in addition to the adjustment from clear liquids to FULL liquids and eating soups and such. I’m happy to see a loss from last week. I DID see as low as 238.4 this week but then I went back up to 240! ACK! Enter Colace and lots of water to save the day. I expect to see 238 again soon. This is a BIG reason why I weigh everyday. I know, I know, it drives everyone else crazy. What drives ME crazy is to get on the scale after a week and seeing an increase and not knowing WHY. What to correct, what to do. If I get on in the morning and I’m up, I review the day before. Too much salt? Too much nibbling? Not enough of water? It gives me the power of correcting right then and there and then I can watch the numbers go back down. Knowing I am up but not being able to rule out a food or a behavior is useless to me. NSV’s this week- Not too many, it’s still early on in my journey and the weight isn’t ‘falling off’ like it has for others. NOT COMPLAINING cause it is still coming off! I can’t wear any of my size 20 or 22 jeans. I guess that is good. My knees don’t ache like they used to… I can bound up the stairs at my house now. Used to take me a full minute to go up or down 12 steps. I’m sure there are lots of things but sometimes it’s like… I’m doing something and I think…hey! I can DO THIS NOW! Also, I have a jacket that I bought last fall- a berry red trench from Target in XL. The arms on it were SO TIGHT I rarely wore it because I always felt like I was choking. I am no longer choking! \o/ I can’t button it yet….cause I’m busty… but that’ll be another milestone. Week was good, rather uneventful and I suppose that’s how it’ll go. Some will be better than others. I feel like I am still adjusting to The Sleeved Life. I also feel like I need to really get to WORK adding in exercise. I’ve been doing one mile walks about every other day and as my energy allows, I’ve got to start adding in more. This weight isn’t going to just fall off, unfortunately.

5 mins per bite
I don't measure time. It usually goes bite bite ...chew chew chew chew chew chew.. swallow..... feel a bit of pressure either in my chest or my back... put the fork down for a few minutes until pressure subsides.... bite bite... repeat. Today I had a cup of soup. Took me about 3 hours to finish the thing.

YouTube Do you have a channel?
I just watched it. Things are going well. Average results but I am already lower than I've been able to get in recent months and out of a size already so I will not complain. Yeah I kinda can't wait to see what tomorrow's numbers bring.....

____ years old and never...
38 and lots of things I've never done. Hoping that losing some weight and bolstering some confidence as well as improving my looks gives me a running start at marking some things of the list that I don't want to still be there when I turn 40.

IS IT TRUE AFTER 6 MONTHS
Depends on the person. My bestie is about 11 months out and still losing. Not RAPIDLY like in the first few months but it's tricking down to about 8lbs a month.

10 weeks out and I should know better! Geez.
What about setting the plate a little out of reach so that forces a break between bites? Last night I was mindlessly eating and watching TV and ugh. Jelly protested strongly!!!

No bowel since surgery.. what should i do?
I really thought I was going to pass out when I tried to go. Please first try a softener. Colace worked wonders for me. Milk of Magnesia wasn't bad either. Your bum will thank you!

If you were a binge eater before
There is a YouTuber called SecretSleeve that was a binge eater as well and she talks at length about VSG as a Binge eater.

If you were a binge eater before
Binge eater here. I always said any program that tackled 'being hungry' wouldn't work for me because I don't eat out of hunger. I am just about two weeks out. Occasionally I think about food. i want to snack more than anything... but it's true how things change after surgery. My mom had some Cheetos when she visited me over break. The smell of them was nauseating. They left three huge slices of gooey chocolate cake... I threw them away. Crunch and Munch in my cabinet? Not a temptation. I measure what I am going to eat because I found out last night what eating too much/too quickly brings. My sleeve was unimpressed with my need to keep eating. I am sure it'll be more difficult as time goes on but for the moment I don't seem to have the same impulses or triggers. In fact, I suffer from S.A.D (Seasonal Affective Disorder) and really since I decided to have the surgery, I haven't had a mopey, crying day. I think doing something good for me and knowing that I am working toward solving my weight problem has really helped battle it.
